Regardless of how seasoned of a traveler you are, Morocco remains one of the most beautiful and exotic destinations – particularly when it comes to the tranquil Ouigane Valley, an hour’s drive outside of central Marrakech.

The new intimate boutique hotel and spa with villa residences is located at the foothills of Atlas Mountain, outlined with terracotta bricks that echo the tones of the nearby Berber villages (guided Berber village walks are available at the hotel). The project, spearheaded by British owners, has been a labor of love for over a dozen years, and after much anticipation, is finally open to guests.

Each room comes with a stunning view, with its own balcony, and access to the 25-meter infinity pool that overlooks the Ouirgane National Park. The private villas though, are the showstoppers: each home has its own roof terrace, made for sunsets that turn into late nights catching up with friends. The picturesque hotel grounds are an Eden with rows of rosemary bushes and expertly-maintained greenery, and the bar and restaurant serves the freshest of farm-to-table seasonal menus. The villas also come equipped with their own kitchen and dining rooms, a private roof terrace, a courtyard, a garden, a plunge pool, and a personal chef.

Pre-arranged yoga classes, hiking, biking, horse-riding, local 4x4 excursions, and games of tennis at the clay tennis court – are all also at your disposal at L’Amandier. The tennis court alone may be just one of the most beautifully set that we’ve seen around the world. L’Amandier is in friends and family currently, as they develop the culinary program, artists in residence, spa and wellness center, music that reminds you of the hotel Costes in Paris and even a recording studio in the future. L’Amandier will be the place for artists, musicians and actors; But for now, it’s your home to discover the Atlas Mountains.
