You’re the Best, Mom

I love Mother’s Day. Not because I’m a Mom (just Aunt + Godmother to 17 nieces, nephews and Godkids). But, because it’s the chance to recognize all those hard-working Moms out there, this time of year. Especially, my Mom. You all deserve the world this week – and every week. Mom is the Backbone As I write this, I’m coming off a three week trip to Africa and awaiting my flight home. Africa is a place that has always been special to my heart, because it’s here as I shared in last month’s musings that 12 years ago, I found…

AIRE Ancient Baths

While there are plenty of spas in New York City with top-grade amenities, they lack a key component of luxury: privacy. But when you’re one of many trying to enjoy a limited space, the magic of peace wavers at the discretion of fellow guests.…

Dior Tapered Candles

Although Dior started as a women’s fashion house in 1946, today, it makes more than must-have clothes – much, much more. This Sweet Laurel Bakery Co-Founder Travels For Sweets

Laurel Galucci is the co-founder Sweet Laurel Bakery — which may sound familiar if you live in LA or travel often through LAX. As you may have already figured out, Galucci is also the namesake of Sweet Laurel Bakery. She is a third generation Angeleno and a self-taught baker. And, her baking journey began when she was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease as a young adult. Forward to present day: her baked goods use natural unprocessed ingredients that are grain-free, dairy-free, and refined sugar-free. Now, with a location at LAX, Sweet Laurel Bakery is even more travel-friendly than before. Read on to learn where Galucci feeds her sweet tooth when she’s traveling, and learn about her favorite keepsakes, too. Sweet Laurel Bakery’s baked goods are gluten-free. Photo credit: Sweet Laurel Bakery. Other than your own sweets, what are your favorite bakeries? There are so many incredible bakeries around the world. I think two in particular that I adore are Maman in New York and Violet Bakery in London. Both have a similar, unfussy, homemade approach to baking that I love. Is there anything that you bake that was inspired by travel?  Yes. We love Italy and the Mediterranean, so many…
