Favorite Destination
Since seeing the Netherlands, Amsterdam has held a special place for me. Most memorable was traveling via the trolly system. I was able to see both the larger tourist sites, and visit quieter sections of the city where the people were kind and welcoming. I felt surrounded by art, especially when I was able to sketch with other travelers and artists in Van Gogh Park. In Venice, another one of my favorite places, I stayed in a family friends’ apartment and really got the local experience.
However, Croatia is more of a home away from home than any of these places. My love for the small beach town, Zablace, only grows as I get older and realize more the value of the peace in nature and family.
Most Exotic Destination Traveled
My trip to the Bahamas had me swimming with dolphins, and scuba driving with shipwrecks.
On My Bucket List
My mother and her family are Columbian, and so I can’t wait to make it to Bogota. While I am in South America I also plan to visit my cousins in Guatemala.
Travel Philosophy
To always do your research on the destination’s culture and history, and to spend as much time connecting with the local culture as possible.
