Favorite Destination
Budapest, Hungary – I lived there for a month when I was 26 and completing coursework to teach English as a second language. I’m not ashamed to say I let my studies slack due to all the fun I was having. Beautiful city. Beautiful people. The Sziget festival was especially memorable. I’ve gone back twice since to reconnect with old friends, and each time has been more enjoyable than the last.
Most Exotic Destination Traveled
Queens, New York – I’ve seen some pretty exotic things there.
On My Bucket List
The Wadi Rum, Jordan – Lawrence of Arabia has been one of my favorite films since I was very young. They filmed in the same locations the real-life Lawrence operated in, so visiting Jordan would be a chance to combine my love of film, my love of history, and my love of deserts into one experience.
Travel Philosophy
I travel light and love taking trains. I ignore my phone as much as possible. I also tend to stay away from classical art museums – I think I’ve seen enough paintings of fruit bowls, you know?
