YOUR INSPIRATION TO EXPLORE THE WORLD

Ben Affleck and Ana De Armas Take on the World

Officially the couple that got even better in the pandemic, Ana de Armas and Ben Affleck’s game is strong.  It must be all those vacations they’ve taken around the world.  They’ve hit travel strong, even in the pandemic, that it’s worth its own article so you too can travel like a Bond Girl and Oscar winner.

Costa Rica

Where to stay: You can do the private home thing if you want to get away from the paps like Ana and Ben, or check into the Four Seasons at the Peninsula Papagayo.  As a Four Seasons, of course you have top notch service, excellent food, poolside days, and if you still want that private villa, the 10,000 square foot, five bedroom Casa del Coco.

What to do:  Zipline, hiking, beaches and taking in all the natural wildlife that is the essence of Costa Rica.

Cuba

Where to stay: Two of the favorites that are not on the beaten tourist path and don’t blow the embargo list are Paseo 206 and La Reserva, two family owned hotel in the artsy local neighborhood of Vedado. Paseo 206 has an excellent restaurant that is a destination for many and rooms appointed with Frette sheets and Hermes toiletries.  La Reserva has high-design in their décor in the common areas and a unique large garden in the backyard.

What to do: Take in all the culture, food, art, beaches and hiking that you can pack in for a 4-5 day visit.  Start with a ride in a vintage American convertible, in a country that is frozen in time.  Walk the historic center of Old Havana, cruise around town in your car then have dinner at the best paladar in Cuba, La Guarida.  Make sure to add in local cafes, a cigar and rum session.   Add in a ballet performance for good measure.

Joshua Tree

Where to stay: If there’s ever a time to check yourself into the Ritz, it’s if you’re going to do an overnight near this national park.  Joshua Tree isn’t known for their luxury accommodations, except for the Ritz Carlton.

What to do: This is a national park, and you want to take advantage of all the hiking and nature that make this the site of Ana de Armas’s first birthday celebration with beau Ben.  Don’t’ miss Skull Rock and the Hidden Valley Nature Trail.

Georgia

Where to stay: Sea Island Georgia, which may be one of the prettiest islands in the continental US.  This is as close to the Mediterranean you ‘ll get stateside.  The best option here is to rent a private home and staff it up, or check into the Cloisters.

What to do:  Golf, spa, biking, relaxing, swimming and head to the beach.
