Perfection is not a designation we award lightly, but we’re ready to ordain this estate on 66 private acres deep in Provence pretty darned close. The quintessential French country home, at a modest 13,000 square feet, is the kind of place that inspires you to make a cassoulet and live your best Provençal life.
What was originally a pear farm, Les Mas des Poiriers brings the dream of owning an effortless estate to life, alongside a daydream of Mr. Darcy running towards you in the gardens so intricately manicured.

The Story Behind The Haven
Shauna Varvel imagined Les Mas de Poiriers after discovering the estate during a family summer in Provence. She found inspiration in the land itself, after slipping away from the overwhelm that motherhood so often brings.
Her inspiration from the land speaks volumes about how her design and style are rooted in a rich European lifestyle. Rather than erase the estate’s original character, architect Alexandre Lafourcade honored its existing bones, while garden designer Dominique Lafourcade created gardens that feel as though they have belonged there for centuries.
Arrival: A Paradise Of Remembering True Peace
Set quietly on its own island in the Rhône, Les Mas de Poiriers immediately pulls you into your own fairytale. Far from any spectacle, this is a redefined paradise.
Unlike your classic check-in desk, you will be met with your bags taken, and the chaos of arrival will become more like returning home with a breath of fresh air.

The Main House
A full staff runs this 66-acre estate with the kind of quiet precision that defines true luxury.
Seven rooms are located in the main house, with rooms featuring fireplaces and floral accents that complement the simple finishes of this structure. It’s perfect for dreaming and forgetting which era you wake up in.

The Cottage
This sequestered haven sits quietly on property, adjacent to the pool and tennis court. The cottage originated in the 18th century as the heart of the estate with preserved stone. Perfect for a young family, friends, or personal staff.

The Gardens
Le Mas de Poiriers gardens were artfully redesigned in 2017 by garden designer Dominique Lafourcade in a traditional Provencal style, including activities such as petanque, ping pong, soccer, and badminton to embrace the grounds in the south garden fully. Venturing further, you’ll find a swimming pool showcasing an extended gazebo for beautifully long lunches and gatherings.
The gardens don’t stop there. Luberon Gardens features both tennis and pickleball courts, a basketball hoop, and a Sonos sound system to keep the vibes going.
Last but not least, you will have your own private spa sanctuary that carries a view over the vineyards and Mount Ventoux in the distance. Cold plunges, massage rooms, and a sauna for any sore muscles you may have developed on the court.

The Way You Live Here
Clearly, the rhythm that Shauna Varvel had found with her family during their first magical summer here is honored by the peace they offer to those looking to escape just as they had.
This sanctuary is an integration of class and ease, woven through every corner of the land, whether for a wedding, a reunion, or a break from the hustle. Les Mas de Poiriers has you covered.
