Made for television, Chad Powers had its world premiere at Pasadena’s Rose Bowl in September 2025. Renewed for a second season, Powell’s sports comedy from Hulu will take him back to metro Atlanta. He is on location as creator, producer, and star of the series. The primary football scenes are filmed at the University of Georgia’s Sanford Stadium in Athens, Georgia and the Atlanta Morehouse College campus.

In spring 2026, filming is on location in Savannah, plus shoots in Macon, Claxton, and Milledgeville, Georgia. Five miles outside Savannah in tiny Thunderbolt, it isn’t hard for locals to spot Glen Powell and crew. Casting calls are out from director Judd Apatow, seeking vintage car owners and extras to fill party scenes at local colleges.
On a recent evening in Savannah’s Bull Street, Powell dined with actor Michelle Randolph at Ukiyo, the Japanese izakaya and ramen bar. He’s also been to Clary’s Cafe in Abercorn Street, a super popular Savannah favorite for Southern homestyle cooking that appeared in The Real Housewives of Atlanta.
On the silver screen, this picturesque Southern city shows off her magnolias, ancient oaks, and Spanish moss finery as a backdrop. Notably, the bench where Tom Hanks sat as Forrest Gump is in Chippewa Square; Julia Roberts’ character in Something to Talk About attracts visitors to a red phone box outside Six Pence Pub; Clint Eastwood directed and filmed Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil entirely in Savannah.

Providence, Rhode Island
Using Ghostwriter as a working title, yet another 2025 feature filmed on location has kept Glen Powell busy. Since re-named The Great Beyond, general release is expected on November 13, 2026. Powell portrays a newlywed writer who discovers, through a supernatural entity, that his fictional world is real.
In Providence at Federal Hill and near Point Street Bridge, crews set up along Lilly Street and Atwells Avenue. Here, Powell was seen covered in Hollywood blood, riding a bike. The Providence campus at Johnson & Wales University also gets backdrop action. Working with J.J. Abrams as director, filming wrapped up in late summer in Providence, Rhode Island and at The Time Capsule store in nearby Cranston, Rhode Island.
Additional scenes involving co-stars Jenna Ortega, Emma Mackey, and Samuel L. Jackson were shot in the U.K.

Glasgow, Scotland
Wondering how a futuristic New York City might look? Location scouts for The Running Man chose Glasgow for this project. Author Stephen King, also the movie’s executive producer, shows us a dark plot fantasy. Stunt-heavy work performed by Powell himself involves a fast-action bus scene and street blockades. After filming in Bothwell Street, the actor was at The Locale pub in the Charing Cross area and Sarti’s Italian restaurant on Bath Street.
He raved about the Scottish city during the London premiere at Odeon Luxe in Leicester Square alongside cast members Josh Brolin and William H. Macy.
In London, filming also took place at landmarks: Canary Wharf, the Barbican, Wembley Stadium, and Battersea Power Station on the Thames.

Glen Powell, College Student
Home is Austin, Texas for Glen Powell. The ambitious student-actor shared that he expects to finish his degree in spring 2027.
