According to the Global Wellness Institute (GWI), the global wellness economy is projected to reach nearly $9.8 trillion by 2029. So it’s no surprise that new spas and wellness centers are unveiling across the world at rapid speed. These new spas and wellness centers are in a different league: some come with doctors and therapists on staff. Some offer specialized tech insights to your sleep efficiency and cortisol levels. Others are just really really good at making those of us who are exhausted and burnt out feel like an actual person again. We could all use a spa day to rest, recharge and indulge every once in a while, so here are the best spa and wellness center openings to watch.

Canyon Ranch Austin

Location: 600 Moonlight Bend, Spicewood, Texas

Since opening in 1979, Canyon Ranch is the very definition of luxury wellness. Its resorts span Tucson, Lenox, and Las Vegas, plus an extension in Fort Worth. This year, the brand unveiled its newest resort in Austin, Texas. Opened in October 2026, it is Texas’s most luxurious wellness getaway and home to its largest spa. There’s circadian-optimized facilities, exclusive facial treatments designed by celebrity esthetician Iván Pol (The Beauty Sandwich) and a longevity center with physicians, clinicians, and wellness specialists. Reservations are already nearly impossible to book. The brand offers unique treatments and hosts innovative retreats, such as menopause, sound healing, and pet communication. The property goes all-in on women’s wellness — there’s even a dedicated women’s wellness retreat around sex, skin and sleep scheduled for November. Its programming and offerings reflect that focus and bring cutting-edge wellness services to guests.

Alila Mayakoba

Location: Carretera Federal, Cancún – Tulum Km. 298, Playa del Carmen, Mexico

Stretched across 60 acres of mangroves, lush jungles and coastal shoreline, Alila Mayakoba is the brand’s first resort in Latin America and the Caribbean. Its spa offers less “pick from a menu” and more “choose your own sacred ritual.” Using Mayan cosmology, wellness rituals and traditions, the Tzolk’in calendar guides treatments. Try a cacao ceremony meditation or a tezmecal steam lodge — or let the cards decide for you. Wellness here has a lively social side too, so it never feels like a monastic retreat of solitude. The new adult-focused spaces sit around an open-air cenote — perhaps the greatest backdrop for doing absolutely nothing but indulging.

Kämp Spa

Location: Pohjoisesplanadi 29, 00100 Helsinki, Finland

Clearly, Helsinki is having a moment, so the reimagined Kämp Spa being Helsinki’s biggest (and most luxurious) spa is on par with the reputation. It sits inside Hotel Kämp, which has been the city’s grand address since 1887. The setup nods to the Finnish traditions around bathing culture with a Finnish sauna, steam room, infrared sauna, pool and a cold plunge. Then it goes full biohacker with cryotherapy, Neurosonic beds and compression therapy. Save time for the Spa Lounge, where the menu includes house-made collagen ice cream and a cocktail served in a cup shaped like a traditional Finnish sauna bucket. It’s a smart pick for those who want a city break that doubles as a reset. However, note that guests need to be 16 or older.

Six Senses London

Location: 1 Redan Pl, London W2 4SA

Across the pond, the Six Senses London opened a serene wellness sanctuary among London’s usual rush and bustle. It’s exactly the spot those in-the-know go to go take the edge off. In fact, the massive 25,000-square-foot spa is the ultimate indoor oasis. It boasts London’s first magnesium pool (alongside dedicated cryotherapy and flotation spaces) where you can take a dip that instantly melts away muscle tension, without the side of irritating chlorine. The hotel has exemplary wellness programming, even by Six Senses standards. There’s quick resets like PEMF therapy or infrared sauna that take five to thirty minutes. There’s also a Lymphatic Body Reset treatment by integrative facialist and acupuncturist Annee de Mamiel.  The longevity side is the real draw, with a Biohack Recovery Lounge and a medical clinic focused on healthy aging.

Dior Spa at Grand Hotel Timeo

Location: Via Teatro Greco 59, 98039 Taormina ME, Italy

If there’s anything Dior is amazing at, it’s creating a luxury spa experience. And if there is anything Belmond is amazing at, it’s creating a luxury hotel experience. So the pairing in Sicily’s postcard-worthy Taormina just makes sense. Italian Baroque interiors and Sicilian mosaic floors set a glamorous tone, while the garden terraces keep things feeling intimate. Among the cypress trees in said garden, you’ll find the Dior Spa treatment cabins. A sweet respite above the Ionian Sea, overlooking Mount Etna and Naxos Bay, it immediately puts you in the dolce far niente mindset. Dior’s signature facials and body treatments bring head to toe glow — but there’s also a special spa menu inspired by the Sicilian sun. For a deeper dive, book the Dior Wellness Villeggiatura, a personalized program co-created with a pilates specialist and a functional medicine practitioner. Either way, it’s pretty much paradise, just with a better view.

Miraval The Red Sea

Location: Shura Island, 0 Ḩanak, Saudi Arabia

Miraval is best known for its Arizona original, but it has now taken the Miraval magic abroad, landing on Shura Island in Saudi Arabia. The adults-only (18+) resort runs on renewable energy, is alcohol-free, and the true definition of a reset. The spa is something to behold: at 40,000 square-feet with 39 indoor and outdoor treatment rooms, it’s the biggest on the island. Expect Miraval’s signature therapies, of course, but also hammam experiences, mineral-rich scrubs and desert-inspired therapies. The broader menu pulls from rituals from India, Tibet, Europe, China and Saudi Arabia. The programming is where it gets really fun: Arabic calligraphy, perfume blending and guided desert stargazing, plus kayaking through the mangroves.

The Medi-Spa at Royal Mansour

Location: 203, Route de Fnideq, 93200 M’diq, Morocco

As Morrocco’s first medical-aesthetic spa, The Medi-Spa at Royal Mansour delivers everything you’d expect — gorgeous views, luxury spa treatments, spacious rooms — and so much more. Beyond that, it brings scientific medical expertise together with holistic preventative medicine, all inspired by Blue Zones. Spend your day at the indoor purified Mediterranean seawater pools, the pink sea salt room, saunas, steam rooms, and more. There’s cryotherapy, thalassotherapy, watsu, hammam rituals and acupuncture on the menu. But definitely opt for one of the most serious resets. The gold star of the spa’s offerings is a seven-day, eight-night longevity program that rejuvenates, regenerates and brings you total balance.

FAQs

Q: What is the difference between a spa and wellness center?

A: There’s no regulated definition, and the two can often be used interchangeably. For the most part, a spa focuses on relaxation and pampering through treatments like massages, facials, and hydrotherapy, usually as one-off visits. A wellness center takes a broader, longer-term approach to health, usually offering more in-depth services like nutrition counseling or stress management. The two overlap quite a bit, so it’s worth checking the service menus before booking.

Q: What is a longevity retreat?

A: A longevity retreat is usually a multi-day program that combines health testing, nutrition, exercise, sleep and stress management, and sometimes bespoke treatments with the goal of giving you insights that may help improve your healthspan and slow aspects of aging (cognitive decline, illness, disability).

Q: When did Miraval The Red Sea open?

A: Miraval The Red Sea officially opened on May 15, 2026.
