The arrival of Aman Nai Lert shows us once again that there can never be too much of a good thing. Aman is officially open in Bangkok, and they may have just outdone themselves. This is a first look at the destination of the moment (and it’s not just because of The White Lotus).
As of April 2, Aman Nai Lert Bangkok has thrown open its doors in Nai Lert Park, a tranquil green oasis found in Bangkok’s diplomatic quarter. With 52 suites and an Aman Club that’s strictly “invite only,” it’s an urban escape unlike any other.
The Setting
This is the 36th property in the Aman collection. And after 35 home runs, the 36th is just as exceptional. Visionary architect Jean-Michel Gathy returned to create Aman Lai Lert Bangkok, having previous worked on Amanyara in Turks and Caicos, and Aman New York in Manhattan.
The privately-owned Nai Lert Park is a lush, green haven in the bustling capital — so it’s no surprise that the new Aman emerged exactly there. Bangkok’s energy is undeniable, but Aman is all about slowing things down. The new hotel is a serene retreat that’s basically telling you to pause, breathe, and savor the moment. At the center of the hotel courtyard, sits a 100-year-old Sompong tree — a majestic giant, and a living piece of the park’s history. The main aesthetic influence for the hotel is the century-old Nai Lert Park Heritage Home (owned by the Nai Lert family, partner to Aman on the project, and a family of tremendous legacy in Bangkok). Even a metropolis like Bangkok can have an Aman oasis, and a conversation between eras.
