Luxury Camping NYC

It's a New York Road Trip - Terra Glamping

Let’s face it. Camping just isn’t for everyone. Sure, cooking over a dangerous, open wood fire and shivering all night in a crowded tent was fun when you were 20, but you’ve outgrown that. Now you know exactlywhat you want from a weekend away. You still love nature, you just don’t want the taste of bug repellent destroying your palate. But wouldn’t it be cool to have all the perks of outdoor camping with none of the hassles? All the relaxation with none of the stress? Sounds like you might need to give “glamping” a shot.

If you haven’t heard of glamping then you’re missing out on one of the hottest trends in outdoor luxury stay. It essentially takes all the good of outdoor camping and does away with the rest. I know what you’re thinking, “How long of a flight do I need to try this out?” That’s the best part: you may not even need to step foot in an airport.

Right now the leader in the glamping world is Terra Glamping which just opened a new site, Hutton Brickyards, among the Catskill mountains… yes, the same mountains just 2 hours outside of New York City. Here, you’re going to have that awesome feeling that only camping gives you. Being outdoors, breathing in fresh air, and being almost shocked by how quiet the world had always been before traffic. But when you’re glamping at Hutton Brickyards, you don’t fight the elements to survive. No, you actually use the elements to thrive. You get to enjoy the Hudson river like you neverhave before. Make use of the complimentary bicycles, kayaks, or standup paddle boards and for those travelers really motivated to reconnect with nature, you can always work in a sunrise yoga session before the rest of the family even wakes up.

But at the end of the day, you have a hot shower (wait…hot showers and camping??? It’s about time), beer and wine sold daily, and even a nightly campfire with a gourmet s’mores bar—seriously... there IS such a thing as a gourmet s’more.   Relax the afternoon away in your luxury safari tent playing board games, reading the latest best seller, or just sipping wine on your private couch. You can also choose to be more of a social butterfly at the communal grill or Al Fresco lounge. The point is that however you spend your time, you’ve definitely nevercamped quite like this before. And after a few nights at Hutton Brickyards, you’ll be hard pressed to camp any other way again.
