Hotels With the Best Fireplaces

Top 5 Hotel Fireplaces for Fall

1. Four Seasons Vail

The Four Seasons Vail should pretty much be in the fireplace Hall of Fame. After all, ski resorts are all about being cozy by the fire. Whether you’re warming up with a cup of cocoa by the outdoor fireplace post hot tub, sitting by the fire pit at the bar for some après ski drinks, or just curling up with a book in the lobby lounge, it’s actually hard not to find a fireplace at the Four Seasons. If you ever leave your room, that is. While fresh tracks are good, the cozy fireplace we like to leave crackling through the night is better. No judgment if you decide to stay in bed until après ski.

2. La Réserve, Paris

From the moment you walk into the Belle Époque building, La Réserve is the definition of French: exclusive, ornate, and vibrantly elegant. And nothing says Parisian decadence like a cozy library with floor to ceiling bookshelves, antique moldings, and over-the-top décor like the green velvet chairs (new #decorgoals) set before a marble fireplace. We’re pretty sure this bibliothèque counts as a spa treatment.

3. Royal Mansour, Marrakech

The poshest hotel in Marrakech, where the competition is fierce, also has the best fireplace. Perfect for those cool Moroccan nights, the Royal Mansour’s Chimney Lounge is centered around the design showstopper all-glass fireplace, where you can enjoy a Moroccan whisky (otherwise known as a mint tea), or a whisky of another sort.

4. Post Ranch Inn, Big Sur

People who live in glass houses apparently also have the best fireplaces. At Post Ranch Inn, the rooms are destinations in themselves. Their modern design takes full advantage of the sweeping ocean views without sacrificing an inch of cozy. Rooms have sleek wood-burning fireplaces stocked with fresh logs right next to your bed—even the spa here has a fireplace.

5. andBeyond Sandibe

After a long afternoon’s game drive on the Okavango Delta, it is an Africa rite of passage to have a sundowner by the fire. At andBeyond Sandibe, the outdoor lantern-lit boma, inspired by a traditional African fort, is the perfect place to unwind—sink into the comfortable couches, wrap yourself in a big blanket, and enjoy some après safari drinks. The campfire is the optimal spot for another African tradition: storytelling.
