The Best Food To Have At The US Open This Year

Morgane Croissant, Staff Writer

Food at US Open

Watching a tennis game is very hunger-inducing. Even if you’re not the one running after the ball, watching tennis players give their all makes you ravenous. Grand Slam tournaments know that they need to feed the audience if they want to keep them engaged and cheering. So, they make sure there’s plenty of good food to be had. Wimbledon is all about strawberries and cream accompanied by a Pimm’s Cup. At Roland Garros, the fans tend to favor cheese and ham baguette sandwiches, along with a cold glass of Moët & Chandon. The US Open it’s no different. In 2026, the tournament will offer some excellent food and drink options that should keep you going for sets after sets. Here is the best food you need to try this year at the US Open. And don’t forget to hydrate with a Honey Deuce or two.

If you’re looking for a sit-down meal complete with elegant waiting staff, as well as real plates, real cutlery, and actual wine glasses, the place to hit is Champions by Benjamin Steakhouse. The pop-up restaurant, just like the Benjamin Steakhouse permanent New York locations, serves excellent meat and seafood. But take note: it’s the juicy, perfectly cooked dry-aged steaks and chops that people keep coming back for. Champions by Benjamin Steakhouse is an exclusive venue. It’s reserved for Arthur Ashe Stadium Courtside and Suite ticket holders only. Because it’s such a popular spot to eat, we recommend that you make a reservation online well ahead of your visit. And because there are plenty of screens showing the games inside the restaurant, you won’t miss a single second of what’s happening on the courts.

Cosme

Again in 2026, Chef Enrique Olvera is setting up a pop-up version of his oh-so-celebrated Flatiron district restaurant, Cosme, at the US Open. This year, it will be located just outside of the Arthur Ashe Stadium (largest tennis stadium in the world) for the duration of the tournament. That means you’ll be able to feast on mole, tlayudas, duck carnitas, and wash it all down with exquisite margaritas in between games. While we don’t know what the menu will look like just yet, if the hazelnut flan is available for dessert, we recommend that you jump on it faster than a ball crew after a Wilson.

COQODAQ

At its New York City location, the stars of the show at COQODAQ are the Korean-style fried chicken and the Champagne. And it won’t be any different at the US Open this year. Don’t expect white tablecloths and cutlery. The set-up will be casual, and you’ll be eating out of one of their signature orange boxes. And it’s well worth it – especially if you can get your hands on a set of Golden Nuggets, i.e. chicken nuggets generously topped with caviar and crème fraiche. The black truffle version is also to die for, so don’t hold back. If you have room for some of their peaches and cream frozen yogurt, go for it.

Fare by Chef Alex Guarnaschelli

For the sixth year in a row, Michelin-starred chef Alex Guarnaschelli will bring Fare, a pop-up Mediterranean bistro, to the US open. The menu will be small but mighty. It will include a charcuterie platter, arancini, and shrimps a la plancha, to name a few of the upcoming deliciousness. There’ll be a long list of hot and cold drinks to choose from, from Frosé to cappuccino, as well as mocktails for those who want to take things slow. The restaurant will be situated on the top level of the South Plaza / Fountain Plaza area next to Court 11. Online reservations are indispensable.

Miznon

For the first time, Michelin-starred chef Eyal Shani is bringing his extensive experience in crafting exceptional Middle-Eastern cuisine to the US open. There are multiple Miznon restaurants in the world, including a very popular location in NYC’s Chelsea neighborhood. Miznon, which translates from Hebrew as ‘canteen’ or ‘cafeteria’, is a casual street-food-inspired venue. The menu consists of a lot of fresh and seasonal veggies, and tasty variations on the humble pita bread.

Salt Hank’s

When the best sandwich in all of NYC is coming to the US Open, you don’t pass on it. Salt Hank’s, a sandwich shop that opened in the West Village in 2025, has become so popular that the likes of Bobby Flay and Mindy Kaling have paid it a visit. There are only two items on the menu at the permanent location in the city, and things will likely be equally simple at the US Open. There will be a French Dip sandwich (baguette, shaved prime rib, Provolone, caramelized onions, and aioli) accompanied by a bowl of meat juice for dipping, and fries. Make sure to grab a few napkins before tucking in – it’s can be messy. Salt Hank’s will be located at US Open’s Food Village.
