King Charles’ Favorite Restaurants in London

Joelle Mentis, Staff Writer

King Charles coronation

After over seven decades, King Charles will have his true moment in the sun. On May 6th, the world will see King Charles take the throne. Besides his long wait, (in fact the longest-waiting heir to the throne in history), he’s worked his whole life for this moment. His charitable efforts have helped over one million challenged young men turn around their lives. In honor of King Charles’ coronation, we have King Charles’ favorite restaurants in London.

Mount St

You would think that King Charles’ favorite restaurants in London would be formal and old school. However, King Charles and Queen Camilla are up for trying new places. Case in point is the new-ish Mount St. in Mayfair. Mount St. is modern British cuisine, which includes the signature lobster pie and a more unique Pigeons in Pimlico, duck liver, bacon and red cabbage.

Brilliant

If King Charles’ favorite restaurants in London includes a traditional Indian restaurant, maybe he really is just like us. London is renowned for its Indian cuisine, which some argue is the best in the world outside of India itself. Brilliant is a Punjabi restaurant, where the curries are the speciality. Brilliant is a family affair, and the care shows through in their homemade dishes. The butter chicken, the paneer and the pani puri are crowd favorites.

Annabel’s

This may be a throw back to King Charles’ bachelor days, but he’s been a fan of Annabel’s for decades. Annabel’s is the private club that is one of the most exclusive in London. What goes on behind the closed doors of Annabel’s, is probably why Princes Harry, William and King Charles count it as one of their favorite restaurants in London.

Ritz London

Ritz Hotel

We have to assume that the Ritz Hotel is one of King Charles favorite restaurants in London because it’s been a date night spot. Significantly, this is where King Charles made his official debut with Queen Camilla back in 1999. It was a first date of sorts, though we all know the two had been together for many years before. Befittingly, there are special celebrations at The Ritz for King Charles’ coronation this next weekend.
