Celebrity of the Year

Taylor Swift

Sometimes, Time Magazine gets it right. Their Person of the Year is our Celebrity of the Year.  No question, about it, it’s the year of Taylor Swift. Like, has there been anyone else whose fans literally registered as an earthquake at a show? The answer is no, in case you wondered. In honor of Taylor, these are her favorite restaurants in NYC.

The Restaurant: Waverly Inn

The Location: Greenwich Village

With this much stake in the game, Taylor wouldn’t be caught taking her new boo to just any restaurant. When she was most recently in the city while on a break in the Eras tour, she took Travis to Waverly Inn. Taylor was practically on her second tour — the boyfriend tour — while parading him around at all her fav spots. Leaving the spot on a Sunday, the pair looked impossibly chic.

Waverly Inn has been a mainstay for Taylor. It’s been there for her through breakups (while grabbing drinks with Pheobe Bridgers), for girls nights (with Lorde and Jack Antonoff), and for her favorite martinis just ’cause. The West village spot does the cozy and private thing superbly, and the high-end comfort food just hits every time. Go for the chicken pot pie.

The Restaurant: Via Carota

The Location: West Village

Taylor has a long list of past lovers, but two that will never leave her heart are the West Village and Italian food. She and her bevy of famous girlfriends have kept this particular combo of the two (a West village italian spot) one of the hottest tables in the city for just shy a decade. Most recently, she and newly single pal, Sophie Turner dined at Via Carota in dinner-halting outfits.

The paparazzi make a habit of frequenting the spot not only for her, but for the slew of other famous clientele that often show face. Gwyneth Paltrow (when she’s eating carbs, Jennifer Lawrence, Emily Ratajkowski, and Andy Cohen all love Via Carota. The rustic Florentine vibe and large share plates make for the best family-style meals.

The Restaurant: Lucali

The Location: Brooklyn

Every girl group in NYC has to have their pizza spot. When the show’s over, when the club closes, or for self care days, a casual pizza spot always does the trick. Lucali serves as the spot for Taylor and her posse. In fact, just a few weeks ago, she joined longtime bestie Selena Gomez, Zoe Kravitz and Anya Taylor-Joy for a slice and a glass after a nearby comedy show.

Just because the spot has maintained affordable prices (despite skyrocketing to fame), and has a rustic vibe doesn’t mean the girls didn’t dress to the nines. Lucali has a predictably good wood-fired pie that never disappoints hence the come-as-you-are mentality. They also don’t take reservations.

The Restaurant: Zero Bond

The Location: Noho

She used to be a mainstay at Casa Cipriani… until unfortunate fan pictures that violated their no-pap policy surfaced. Now, her private club of choice is Zero Bond. And she’s in good company. She has grabbed dinner here with friends, Blake Lively, Ed Sheeran, and recently boyfriend, Travis Kelce after watching his game at Metlife.

Zero Bond has hosted celebrity parties such as Kim Kardashian, Gigi Hadid and is a favorite of Mayor Eric Adams. The intimate space has an omakase bar, a supposedly decent Italian fusion menu served by expert servers, and an all-night club for the famed guests to get their boogie on — likely to tunes sung by the members.
