José Andrés: The First to the Rescue

Jose Andres

It’s not a man. It’s not a plane. And move over Superman. It’s José Andrés, the famed chef and philanthropist, who has consistently been the first on the scene to come to the rescue. He was there to feed those in need after the hurricane in Puerto Rico. He was there after the attack on the Capitol. He does what he does best — he brings nonpartisan food to comfort those who need it.

As passionate as Mr. Andres is about food, he’s also clearly passionate about helping those in need.  Chef Andres and his wife Patricia made their dream a reality in 2010, when they founded the non-profit the World Central Kitchen, whose mission is to empower communities and strengthen economies through food.  Since then, they have been stepping in their ambitious worldwide efforts, from everywhere to Lebanon after the massive port explosion, to the deadly bush fires in Australia, to hurricanes in Central America. Today he’s in Washington DC, feeding the National Guard troops who were brought in to ensure that democracy was preserved.  We’re putting it out there – we just love this guy.

So let’s get involved, and change the world together.  Learn more about the work of Chef Andres and the World Central Kitchen here.
