da Toscano
This was one of the last meals we had out, in a lively, packed restaurant, almost as hard to slide into as Beyoncé’s DMs. We get chills just thinking about that carefree night before lockdown, and we long for that moment to return. Until then, da Toscano is offering for takeout king of a roasted half chicken with crispy potatoes, and their dessert specialty sour cream cheesecake, among other pastas and meat dishes.
Minetta Tavern
We know you’ve always wanted to order a magnum of Châteauneuf-du-Pape for delivery. Here’s your chance, at the famed and classic Minetta Tavern, which is an example of how NYC can do French even better than France. There’s a lot of selection; if the menu is abbreviated, we can’t think of anything that is missing. Right now, we’re totally digging the scallop agnolotti and the bone-in NY strip steak.
Blue Hill
The delivery option here has gone through several iterations, and as of print, Blue Hill is now doing groceries exclusively for pickup at both the Stone Barns and NYC locations. If you’ve ever been to Blue Hill, you know the real heroes of their menus are the vegetables, fish, and meat, which are sourced from the very best local purveyors, so these boxes, which you reserve on their website, are brimming with culinary gems. We’re even thinking the drive up to Stone Barns may be a fun field trip, followed by a delicious home-cooked meal later in the evening.
