The Top 4 Places to Order in Lobster Burrata, Jerusalem Bagels and NY Strip Steak

The Special NYC Delivery Lead Photo

It takes a lot of guts and a lot of heart to keep going as an NYC restaurant at this time, so give yourself a night off from cooking and support our local restaurants. Who is delivering changes daily, but as of publication, these are our favorites for ordering in this week in NYC.

Marea

Of all the places we’ve been ordering from, this may be the one that is just about as good in takeout form as dining in. The lobster burrata is so good that you don’t miss the caviar that’s normally served with it in the restaurant, and the pasta should be approached by ordering one of each for your own at-home tasting. The Bolognese is always a favorite because it’s just as good as grandma’s, and while it sounds aggressive to deliver red wine-braised octopus and marrow, they somehow pull it off. Even when things are back to normal, we are pulling for delivery to continue, as this would firmly remain on our takeout list.

Nur

We love the heart that these guys put into their restaurant, and while most of the usual menu doesn’t translate to delivery, we order here weekly just to get the signature eggplant carpaccio with feta, dates, pistachios and rose water. The Jerusalem bagel, if you haven’t had it yet, is massive but light as air and serves one person, so don’t share. Main dishes are limited to two fish renditions and a vegetarian couscous but are all packed with the intricate flavors that Nur is known for.

The Beatrice Inn

There are a handful of things, literally, on the takeout menu, but wow they all pack a punch. The Beatrice Inn is not messing around, with a 90-day dry-aged NY strip steak topped with a generous pat of truffle butter. This restaurant is known for its meats, so the menu continues with a 45-day aged burger with red wine caramelized onions, and some comfort-food fried chicken. We weren’t exaggerating when we said it was a limited selection — a kale salad and truffle fries complete the daily menu. The strategy is smart: Keep it simple and focus on what you’re good at.

Boucherie Union Square

Because you deserve a proper steak au poivre with pommes frites, followed by mousse au chocolat to end your decadent French meal. If their menu is abbreviated for delivery, we’re not missing a thing on this comprehensive version. They’re even serving the entrecote, which is the bone-in ribeye, and while we haven’t ordered it yet, the French onion soup. The best part may be that they are delivering champagne at barely a markup and a selection of value white and red wines.
