In Los Angeles, there is no shortage of luxury hotels—especially in Beverly Hills. That said, the Four Seasons makes it easy to choose where to go for rest, relaxation and feeling revived. I’m not someone who stays put on a sunny day in Southern California, but between the attention to detail, friendly service and the wellness amenities offered, leaving the property is an afterthought.
Atmosphere
There’s always a glamorous feeling about Beverly Hills, and the Four Seasons honors that notion with a mix of sophistication and California tranquility. Outside, palm trees line the street and flora surrounds the property. Speaking of flowers, Jeff Leatham floral decorations inside are beautifully highlighted by natural light beaming from outside during the day, and the chandeliers hanging in the lobby at night. Up the elevator, on the wellness floor: visit the spa, outdoor fitness center and pool. Feeling one’s best here is nearly effortless.
Rooms
Among the 285 guest rooms with sun-drenched balconies, is a wellness floor, featuring rooms and suites with hypoallergenic wood floors, and water and air purification systems. Each wellness floor room and suite includes fitness and yoga equipment such as hand weights, a mat, and more. During my stay, the room included a massage chair, which was truly an unexpected and relaxing treat.
Spa + Pool
The al-fresco fitness center features an impressive array of weight and cardio machines such as treadmills, stairmasters, and stationary bikes. After breaking a sweat, a few feet beyond shaded fitness turf, you can lay by the resort-style saline pool. Of course, if you’re trying to keep out of the sun (like me), there are cabanas available for booking. Back inside, on the wellness floor, there is a full-service spa that offers treatments ranging from facials to massages, nail services, and other signature rejuvenating options (such as a non-invasive MBR Liquid Surgery facial). An added bonus of unwinding at Four Seasons Los Angeles is that many treatments administered at the spa can also be applied in the privacy of your guest room.
Food + Beverage
At breakfast, I devoured every last bite of the Purgatorio (whole eggs in spicy tomato gravy), and shared bites of an acai bowl – delicious and satisfying. But you can’t order wrong at the contemporary Italian restaurant, which is open for lunch, brunch, and dinner as well. For a California-inspired menu: go up to Cabana, the hotel’s restaurant on the fourth floor terrace. For Jazz-inspired drinks in between, the lounge is the place to be. Just ask some of the celeb-regulars.
Service
At Four Seasons Los Angeles, the staff is ready to warmly welcome you at any time of day — and of course, even in the middle of the night. Efficiency without rushing, and readiness to help without an over-eagerness, creates a lovely balance of hospitality and feeling right at home.
