There’s nothing new about Montana being one of the most beautiful places in the country. But there is something new on the hotel scene, that finally brings a grande scale luxury option to Big Sky. Before you had to either rough it, or own in the billionaire club of Yellowstone. Today though, the Montage Big Sky Resort brings an option for the luxury masses, with its brand new lodge. Here’s the preview of the best luxury hotel in Big Sky .
The Hotel: Montage Big Sky
Location: Big Sky, Montana
In the southern portion of Montana, the Montage Big Sky resort, is right in the thick of the high mountains. The mountains in question include the Spanish Peaks, which are visible from the resort. Yellowstone National Park is also only an hour away by car. The sightseeing in both of these places alone is enough to warrant a trip. At Yellowstone you can see geysers, like Old Faithful, and wildlife, like elk and bison. That is if you ever get off the ski slopes of Moonlight Basin. Before though, in this neck of the woods, there wasn’t a luxury hotel in Big Sky, or near Yellowstone. Well, that’s changed with the opening of the Montage.
Overview
Now that the Montage is the new luxury hotel in Big Sky, Montana and its mountain ranges are even more attractive. Before you had to be part of the billionaires club at the Yellowstone Club to stay in nice digs in Big Sky. But now, mere millionaires have a place to stay.
The big draw for Big Sky is of course the skiing. Big Sky Montage offers ski in ski out and 5,850 acres ripe for skiing and snowboarding. The resort gets over 400 inches of snow annually in the winter, but in the summer fly fishing is the activity of the season. This is made world class by the nearby water of Madison River, Gallatin River, and Yellowstone River. The resort holds 100 rooms and 39 residencies. The luxury hotel experience is paired with top notch dining. The Cortina, (named after the mountains in Italy) serves Northern Italian fare.
