The apple does not fall far from the tree which is true in the case of Lily-Rose Depp, the talented doppelganger child of Vanessa Paradis and Johnny Depp. If you haven’t heard of her by now, she’s part of the cast of The Idol, one of the most buzzed-about shows of the summer. These are the iconic travel-ready locations where The Idol was filmed.
The Weeknd’s Mansion Where the Opening of The Idol was Filmed
The irony of the show produced by a musician is that Abel’s (The Weeknd) mansion was the cheapest place to re-shoot after the series’ set scandal. However, at $70 million, it was one of the most expensive purchases made in LA in 2021.
The 33,000-square-foot home is the main character Jocelyn’s (Lily-Rose Depp) house. The opening scene features a photo shoot here, and you can see a large piece of art that is featured in the home’s listing photos.
It has a theater, gym, tennis court, spa, indoor and outdoor pools, and of course, a music studio. There are nine bedrooms, an outdoor bar, and glossy orange walls in the living room. One can imagine the kind of life one could live there. It definitely suits Lily’s character.
The home’s location overlooking the Bel Air country club has a prestigious place in LA. The neighborhood is only about 6 square miles but is home to some of the most expensive houses in the country. Although the mansion hosts raucous entertainment in The Idol, the neighborhood is known for being an elite, tranquil escape from the urban centers in LA.
The Sherman Residence
Last year, How I Met Your Mother star Alyson Hannigan sold her palatial estate for a hefty $16 Million. This year, the home was featured as the main set where The Idol was filmed. Lily and her squad of famous actors and singers spend most of their time engaging in private activities. So, the producers decided to film most shots from mansions in LA. Except, the home in Encino is less mansion and more architectural masterpiece. Each room is made of board-formed concrete and connected by gallery spaces.
While the home’s former owner is famous, the home might be on par with her. It has been featured in shows such as CSI: Miami and Fracture. And the Encino neighborhood has an old money feel that fits perfectly in the concept of the characters in The Idol.
