Setting the Table with Pretty Dishes

The holidays are right around the corner, and this year, you’re feeling social. As in not-doing-the-holidays-alone social. And host-your-nearest-and-dearest-to-make-up-for-lost-time social. So you want your table to look good. These Natalia pretty dishes by Wabi Sabi will get you started for entertaining this season.

Wabi Sabi

The Meaning of Wabi Sabi

We found these unique beauties on Instagram, and went down the rabbit hole at Wabi Sabi.  The meaning behind Wabi Sabi is the Japanese philosophy to find beauty in the imperfection.  It’s kind of like an Eye Swoon and Destination Haus approach to put different elements together.  You can mix and match on your dining room table, as that’s what makes life interesting.

Mix and Match

What caught our eye was the flower pattern of the stacked bowls. Also we liked the color options, which are a nice compliment to white dishes or if you have patterned plates.  You can choose a color – they have green, blue and pink to start – to pull out a color in your dish set.  For those who have an open kitchen or window-paned cabinets, these pretty dishes also add to the decor.  We think that the pink hues, especially, would add just the right amount of color to a neutral home decor.

Pretty Dishes, for Pretty Food

The bowls are petite, and would be perfect for dips and cocktail hour bites.  You can also use them daily for cereal or to keep you host on snack control portions.  If you’re feeling especially culinary, they would be perfect pretty dishes for a traditional Japanese Kaseiki dinner.  Or just for your takeout sushi. The point is, beyond holiday entertaining, these pretty dishes are versatile for year-round.
