Reopening the Happiest Place on Earth

Jana Beauchamp, Families Writer

Everyone could use some magic from the happiest place on earth right about now. That magic is about to return as Disney Parks begin reopening on July 11. We couldn’t imagine a Disney trip without checking into the Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort. The resort reopens on July 1, just in time to settle in before the magic begins.

We have been cautiously awaiting this moment. Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts has also launched a new global health and safety program, Lead With Care. The program provides employees and guests with ongoing guidance on the evolving COVID-19 situation.

Four Seasons is working with medical experts to enhance cleanliness, guest comfort and safety, and employee training. The resort is also increasing its cleaning and sanitizing schedule for high-touch surfaces. This includes all guest rooms. Four Seasons will also use electrostatic sprayers to apply disinfectants.

Disney Magic

Guests who want to visit the Disney Parks during their stay can take advantage of the resort’s complimentary transportation. Four Seasons provides luxury motor coach service to the parks.

The current reopening schedule has Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Animal Kingdom opening on July 11. Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios will follow on July 15.

Disney is taking a phased approach to reopening. The plan includes physical distancing and capacity measures, enhanced cleanliness and sanitization, screening and prevention support, and cast training.

However, visitors should expect some changes. Disney has temporarily canceled select experiences and reservations. These include character dining, special experiences, dining plans, Extra Magic Hours, and FastPass+ selections.

Park capacity will also be significantly limited. As a result, Disney has introduced a new theme park reservation system. All guests will need a reservation for park entry in advance.

For now, Disney has paused new ticket sales. The focus is on guests with existing tickets and reservations. Annual Passholders will also be able to make reservations in phases. Disney plans to resume new ticket sales afterward.

Experience More Magic

A summer getaway to the Four Seasons Resort Orlando is even more alluring with the new Experience More package. Guests can earn nightly credits to use toward spa and salon treatments, golf, tennis, and private cabana rentals.

The resort’s popular Good Morning Breakfast with Goofy & His Pals at Ravello is also back on Saturdays. The breakfast gives hotel guests a chance to meet their favorite Disney characters. Advance reservations are required, and capacity will be limited.

New food and beverage offerings will also make it easier to enjoy the resort from the comfort of your room. Guests can order DIY Cocktail Kits for in-room delivery. The resort also offers an in-room afternoon tea party service.

A return to Walt Disney World will look a little different this summer. Still, with Disney Parks reopening and Four Seasons Resort Orlando welcoming guests back, it may be just the change of scenery families have been waiting for.
