Not since Taylor + Travis or Bey and Jay has such an epic match been made as with the new Beckons hotels. The way Southern Ocean Lodge, Huka Lodge, and Tierra Patagonia are now all part of the same group feels like they were made for each other.
The newly launched Beckons brand unites Baillie Lodges and Tierra Hotels under one name. It feels less corporate and more like an introduction that took its sweet time. These two were already finishing each other’s sentences. With nine lodges across Australia, New Zealand, Chile, and Canada, the debut arrives fully formed. Beckons steps in knowing itself.
The Arrival
Beckons made its official debut in 2024, introduced as a new experiential luxury brand uniting the Baillie Lodges and Tierra Hotels portfolios. The focus is on landscape, culture, and a regenerative way of traveling. The CEO, Michael Crawford, brings Four Seasons finesse and a hint of Disney‑bred showmanship.
Baillie Lodges brings its Australian and New Zealand heavyweights: Southern Ocean Lodge, Longitude 131°, Silky Oaks Lodge, and Huka Lodge. Tierra Hotels adds its sculptural Chilean trio in Patagonia, Atacama, and Chiloé. KSL Capital Partners picked up Baillie Lodges in 2018 and Tierra Hotels in 2022. Beckons now ties the two together. The portfolio runs from desert to glacier, and yet somehow speaks in one voice.

The Portfolio
Across the nine lodges, the scale stays intentionally small – most average around 25 suites. Yet, they keep the experience personal and quietly luxurious. From the glass‑lined calm of Southern Ocean Lodge to the elemental curves of Tierra Patagonia, each property leans into its setting without repeating a formula.
The Experience
The aesthetic is unified without being uniform. Local materials, low‑impact architecture, and interiors that foreground the landscape define the look. Timber, stone, wool, and glass create a contemporary calm that feels grounded rather than showy.
Beckons builds its stays around guided hikes, glacier treks, desert stargazing, wildlife encounters, and boat expeditions, supported by regional dining and service that appears exactly when needed.

Pricing
Rates reflect the remoteness and the small key counts. ESouthern Ocean Lodge and Longitude 131° open around $1,800–$2,500. Huka Lodge and Clayoquot Wilderness Lodge soar past $4,000 in peak months. Tierra’s Chilean lodges sit slightly lower, with shoulder‑season stays beginning around USD $1,200–$1,600. Dining, guided experiences, and wellness programming are included.

The Takeaway
Beckons arrives with the rare advantage of feeling established from day one. By bringing Baillie Lodges and Tierra Hotels together, the brand steps into the luxury landscape with a portfolio that’s both geographically ambitious and stylistically aligned.
