You may know it as “the world’s most expensive town” or even “the billionaires’ ski town,” but we like to call it by its hard-to-pronounce name: Gstaad (k-sh-taa-t). That said, the nicknames are true: Gstaad is, indeed, a destination that caters almost exclusively to ultra-luxury travelers. The likes of Prada, Moncler, and Loro Piana line the streets of the small pedestrian town center, along with Lunajets (a private jet store), and high-end restaurants. And Four Seasons is getting in on the action. Not wanting to be left behind, the hospitality brand is in the process of renovating The Park Gstaad, the first five-star hotel ever to open in the town back in 1910. By the end of 2026 when it will open, The Park Gstaad, Four Seasons Hotel will rival some of the most opulent properties in the world. Let’s see how it will do it.
The Park Gstaad’s Location

Gstaad is very small, so the choice of hotels is limited to 14 properties – and The Park Gstaad, Four Seasons will soon be one of them. And if scoring a spot in Gstaad wasn’t enough, Four Seasons managed to acquire one of the best locations there is. While it’s only a seven minutes’ walk to the famous Promenade (the car-free main street packed with luxe boutiques), the hotel is just secluded enough to bring discretion to its discerning guests. And thanks to its fabulous address, no matter which room you opt to stay in, you’ll have either views of the Alps, or the village, both of which are dreamy.
Accommodations

The chalet-inspired property may look large from the outside, but interior designer Joseph Dirand and architecture studio Jaggi are keeping things intimate. There will be only 75 accommodations, including 18 suites and six penthouse residences. The decor in every single one of them will be a blend of alpine coziness and contemporary elegance. Expect neutral, soothing colors, light-colored wood, and simple yet high-quality furnishing. It’s quiet luxury at its finest: not a hint of bling-bling in sight. The focus is to bring extreme comfort and peace to guests exhausted from spending the day on the slopes. And of course, most accommodations will have a balcony with the aforementioned views of the village or the Alps.
Amenities

While the village of Gstaad has plenty of excellent restaurants, you won’t need to leave the hotel to find top-shelf sustenance. There will be seven restaurants and lounges on site, including a steakhouse, a Japanese dining venue, and a spot to enjoy classic Swiss food. Fondue for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, anyone?

The Park Gstaad, Four Seasons wouldn’t be a five-star hotel without solid wellness offerings. The plans are for indoor and outdoor pools, jetted tubs, a hair and nail salon, and a spa treatment menu full of Clinique La Prairie options. A thermal circuit, and a fitness center where you can get personalized training will allow you to stay in shape. Outdoors, there’ll be a clay court for tennis, padel, and pickleball for when the snow has cleared.
Summer Or Winter: When Is The Best Time To Visit?
The Park Gstaad will be open all year round to accommodate the whole gamut of outdoorsy guests, from skiers to hikers, paragliders, cyclists, and more. The hotel will have a ski lounge with a ski concierge in the snowy months so you can rent equipment or get your own gear tuned. There will be a cycling lounge in the summer months for the same purposes. There are rumors of an ice rink, but nothing’s confirmed so we’ll have to wait and see.
