The Hotel: Mandarin Oriental Mayfair

The Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park has a new sibling, and it’s one of the new hotel openings in 2024 in Mayfair. Built by the team behind the Centre Pompidou in Paris and the Cheesegrater in London, the sleek building in Hanover Square is the cool new kid on the block. The interiors reflect a forward thinking vibe with floating spiral staircases, bold one-off pieces of furniture, and art work by talented locals.
The hotel will feature a restaurant named eponymously after the Michelin starred chef Akira Back, whose dishes have modern Korean and Japanese influences. The hotel will also feature a spa that competes with the best in the city. There is a 25 m swimming pool, as well as a host of spa rooms with signature treatments for hotel guests. The spa will also be open to the local community as part of the new Mayfair center for a collection of fashion, art and business. The current target date for opening is Spring 2024.
The Hotel: Louis Vuitton
The Location: Paris
Overview
Some things in life are worth the wait and the Louis Vuitton hotel will certainly be one of them. We don’t know much yet, but we do know that if Louis Vuitton is going to open up a hotel, it’s going to be luxurious. The building (formerly the HSBC bank headquarters) is located on the Champs Elysées and currently undergoing massive renovations. We know this because you’ll see it wrapped like a giant LV travel case.
As one of if not the biggest fashion houses in the world, the new hotel is certainly going to be an homage to LVMH. Yes LVMH has Cheval Blanc, but this is Louis Vuitton’s first foray into hospitality. The hotel will occupy space next to the largest Louis Vuitton store in the world. We are still hopeful that this will be one of the new hotels to open in 2024, but either way the year will bring new peeks into the progress.
The Hotel: One&Only Kéa
The Location: Nearby Athens
Overview
Worry not, you will soon have the weekend destination that you always dreamed of adding to your Europe trip. This is one of the new hotel openings of 2024 that will be your excuse to get to Greece. The much anticipated second Greek outpost of the One&Only will soon grace the Cyclades with an all-villa oasis. The new resort and residence will sit on 150 acres of island. The simple and elegant One&Only design carries through the residences. Each has a private pool, terrace, courtyard and fireplace. The public part of the resort will offer a spa, Greek taverna, and resident DJ that will have you dancing all night. The resort will open in April, 2024.
