When people can live and travel anywhere they want in the world and yet they keep coming back to the Hamptons, there’s got to be something to it. This Memorial Day is the unofficial kickoff to summer and the Hamptons is up to its old tricks as well as some new ones. These are the new restaurants in the Hamptons this summer and hotels on the scene, and for posterity, a few of the standby favorites. It’s not summer in the Hamptons without them.

Restaurants

The Restaurant: Wayan & Ma•dé

The Location: East Hampton

 Overview

It’s inevitable that if a New York City restaurant makes a name for itself, chances are they will give their shot as one of the new restaurants in the Hamptons this summer. Wayan & Ma•dé are on board this summer with exceptional food and the bonus of a beach view. And now you can add Southeast Asian cuisine to your summer list with Indonesian and French inspiration. The couple behind the NYC hotspots, Cedric and Ochi Vongerichten, stay local with fresh elements directly from fishermen and farms in the Hamptons. You can bring your dog for patio seating, order a hand-crafted cocktail, and order Wayan’s signature Lobster Noodle for your next beach outing. They’ll be around from May 23 to Sept. 2.

The Restaurant: The Montauk Beach House Bar & Grill

The Location: Montauk

Overview

Montauk Beach House is known for its DJ scene and pool party expertise, but they’re adding food to the mix this year. The Montauk Beach House Bar & Grill has a luxe island vibe, the Greek islands more specifically. It will be the only Greek restaurant in Montauk with authentic roots, taking direction from Cyprus native and Director of Operations Yanni Papgianni. Food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner will feature dishes like Shrimp Santorini and a Ntakos Greek Salad. Now, you can enjoy notable DJs and have a new cuisine to add to your rotation this summer. The hotel also implements movies on the lawn and a new wellness program, so stay tuned.

LDV at The Maidstone

The Location: East Hampton

Overview

What’s old is new again, and the team behind Scarpetta will be in residence at The Maidstone with a new Italian concept. It’s not just the restaurant though that they’ll be running, but rather the entire hotel. More on that later though. In the meantime, we’re betting that the Italian restaurant in the hotel will finally give the Maidstone a hotspot as one of the new restaurants in the Hamptons this summer.

Zero Bond

Location: East Hampton

Overview

Trouble is a-brewing, as across the street from The Maidstone is another hot spot, private club Zero Bond. We’re not sure how this is all going to land as this part of East Hampton is residential. However with LDV at the Maidstone and Zero Bond at the once quiet Hedges Inn, expect a lot more action in the evenings.

Village Bistro

Location: East Hampton

Overview

Clearly, sleepy East Hampton is looking to rival Montauk as the place to be this summer. We always liked Rowdy Hall, not for the food but for its quaint location down a pretty little enclave within town. Village Bistro arrives as one of the new restaurants in the Hamptons this summer  will take that space this summer, and serve French-American cuisine.

The Restaurant: Il Pellicano at Bijoux

The Location: Southampton

Overview

If you still need to check out Bijoux Restaurant + Club in New York City, you’ll have your moment in the Hamptons come Memorial Day weekend. Kyky Conille, a legend in the food and club scenes, has already made his mark with iconic spots like Lily Pond, Provocateur, and PM. The original  Bijoux restaurant + club draws a celebrity crowd, and the Hamptons location matches its design. This is one of the new restaurants in the Hamptons this summer which will likely draw celeb sightings, but the summer edition.

Il Pellicano will occupy the front space with an Italian seafood-driven menu, and the back is for partying; think lounge bar fusion with bottle service. A patio is also a huge plus for warmer days, and Il Pellicano at Bijoux offers day beds and cabanas, which are just shy of 200 seats. A lawn is also in the works for lawn games during the day.

N’AMO Seafood & Raw Bar

The Location: Montauk

Overview

This one is hot off the presses, and opening right in time for Labor Day weekend this Friday, May 24th. It’s just in time as we are all about more raw bars which are the perfect summer food. This is one of two new restaurants in the Hamptons this summer by the owners of the new Village Bistro in East Hampton. N’AMO looks like it will have an Italian take on raw bar, with crudo as well as pastas, pizza and whole grilled fish. We’re guessing this is one of the new restaurants in the Hamptons this summer that will focus on the culinary versus scene.

Ocean Club Montauk

Location: Montauk

Overview

Ocean Club Montauk is now open for service- the new restaurant and bar at Montauk Yacht Club serves fresh, locally sourced dishes with renowned chef Jarad MacCarroll’s direction. His portfolio is impressive, with stunts at St. Barths’ Hotel Le Toiny, Chiltern Firehouse, and The Ritz London. Now in Montauk, MacCarroll serves grilled delicacies like five-hour charcoal, wood-roasted beef, and fresh seafood from the largest open kitchen in the Hamptons. Need a wine pairing? No problem –  Ocean Club Montauk’s Rosé selection isn’t centered on one region, so you don’t have to settle on just one. There is plenty of seating, 218 spots across the three dining areas, and they all have waterfront views. There’s also a chef’s table for you and a group of five to be spoiled. With views like these, reservations will likely fill up quickly, so lock yours in now.

Hotels

The Hotel: Sage & Madison

The Location: Sag Harbor Village

Overview

You’ll find Sage and Madison’s historic property in Sag Harbor Village. The house turned Inn and garden is also a hub for the newest luxury fashion. Owner and Curator Chris Coffee has hosted fashion events with industry leaders like Marni, Decades, St.John, and Maison Margiela. The charming cottage core Inn marries nostalgia and contemporary fashion for a timeless stay. Designer pop-ups surround 200-plus-year-old floors and local crafts for exclusive events. Sage & Madison has some new fashion partnerships in the works this summer- standby for the announcement of designers and events in this dreamy garden Inn.

The Hotel: The Maidstone Hotel

The Location: East Hampton

Overview

The Maidstone Hotel is reopening under the new operations of John Meadow and LDV Hospitality with an Italian flare. The charming 150-year-old house’s design is getting a makeover. All rooms have en suite bathrooms and complimentary beach gear with easy access to the beachside. Perhaps most exciting, notable Scarpetta Chef Jorge Espinoza will curate an Italian Summer-inspired menu. Doors will open on June 17 this year.

The Hotel: Solé East Resort and Beach

The Location: Montauk

Solé East. Courtesy of Solé East on Facebook.

Overview

Solé East Resort does luxury right. The 60 bungalow-style rooms and seven garden Cabana suites are clean and crisp, and the rooms have oversized beds. The Backyard Restaurant offers healthful and fresh local ingredients; of course, this includes catches from the Montauk waters. Outdoor spaces are equally luxurious, with bamboo walkways, a lounge by the pool, and a DJ. The area offers ample activities like fishing and golfing, and a stay at Solé East Beach places you 50 feet from a path straight to the beach. But you’re here for what’s new. Solé East is working on incorporating a wellness and music program and introducing a new concept for the shop this summer; more details will come later.
