Serves 6–8
Prep time: 10 minutes
Cook time: 30-40 minutes
Ingredients
2 teaspoons of garlic powder
1 teaspoon of smoked paprika
1 tablespoon of salt
½ teaspoons of cayenne seasoning
½ teaspoons of ground black pepper
Liquid smoke
Olive oil
4 lbs of chicken wings
Optional – 1 tablespoon of brown sugar
Directions
Add the garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, cayenne, and black pepper into a bowl. Mix together well. If you would like a sweet twist to your smoke chicken wings, add the brown sugar into the bowl as well.
Add liquid smoke but only if you’re not using an outdoor grill.
Pat dry the chicken wings and drizzle a little olive oil over them to coat the wings. Then coat them with the dry rub mixture from the bowl. Make sure the wings are completely covered.
Cover the chicken and allow it to marinate for at least one hour in the refrigerator.
If cooking outdoors, preheat your gas grill to medium-high. Place wings evenly on the grill and allow the rub to caramelize a bit. Then lower the heat and cook the chicken for a further 30 minutes or until cooked through.
If cooking indoors, preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Line a baking sheet with aluminium foil and arrange the wings on it in an even layer.
Place into the oven and bake for 20 minutes. Remove the tray, flip the chicken and bake for a further 15 minutes.
When cooked, serve the smoked chicken wings immediately.
