Soho House Barcelona is exactly where you want to be right now. An 18th-century building overlooking Port Vell Marina, old-city streets at its back, boats gliding past out front, and just enough buzz to pull you in. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to cancel your plans in order extend the magic.

The brand first opened its doors in London in 1995 as a place for people in creative industries to gather, work, and unwind. Decades later, Soho House has expanded across Europe and North America, adding restaurants, cinemas, spas, gyms, and hotels along the way. Barcelona feels like a natural fit. The city gets it — and Soho House gets the city.

Inside Soho House

The design comes from founder Nick Jones, with longtime collaborators Vicky Charles and James Waterworth. The look leans into classic Catalan style, with gothic architectural details that feel right at home in the old city. Double-height vaulted ceilings make an entrance, while warm finishes keep things relaxed. Furniture mixes mid-century European pieces, local antiques, and custom Soho House designs. It all feels collected, like someone with very good taste put it together over time.

The Bedrooms

In a bit of a switch from Soho’s traditional model, non-members can book a guest room. There are 57 of them, and not one feel generic. The vibe combines modern comfort with a rustic edge, using warm Mediterranean tones and traditional Spanish patterned textiles. Bathrooms are light and simple, finished with local tiles and vintage bronze fittings. Every room comes with rainforest showers and Cowshed products. Stay the night, and you also get access to the private members’ spaces, which is where the House really comes alive.

Food & Drink

Cecconi’s Barcelona: The restaurant brings its familiar Italian menu to the waterfront and keeps things open to the public. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, and a Sunday Feast brunch are offered. There’s room for 120 guests, plus a private dining space when you want to make a night of it.

The Club Floor: The fifth floor is where members settle in. This is the social center of the House, designed for long lunches, longer dinners, and late night conversation. The Mediterranean-inspired menu highlights local ingredients.

The Rooftop: And then there’s the rooftop. Sea on one side. City on the other. A pool with daybeds, a bar, and lounge seating that fills up quickly. Food is served from breakfast through dinner, and the mood shifts as the sun goes down. You’ll want to time your arrival just right.

Art Around the House

Art is not an afterthought here; it’s part of the fabric. The House features a stairwell mural by Blanca Miró. At the front desk, works on paper by Pablo Picasso and Regina Gimenez make a strong first impression, joined by pieces from Julio Gonzales, Picasso’s close friend and technician.

Local artists share space with international names like Nicolas Party, Mary Ramsden, Tomma Abts, Betty Woodman, Caragh Thuring, Kate Boxer, Holly McCulloch, and Kaye Donachie. In 2023, Bernat Daviu added a large, site-specific painting created specifically for the House.

Wellness, Soho-Style

Cowshed Relax Spa: Downstairs, the Cowshed Relax spa is open to both members and non-members. Inspired by traditional Spanish pharmacies, it includes treatment rooms, mani-pedi stations, and an indoor pool that makes a strong case for slowing down.

Cowshed Active Gym: The Cowshed Active gym is fully equipped and open to members and hotel guests. Expect workout and yoga studios, House Ride cycling classes, a steam room, laundry facilities, and a House Press juice bar to keep things balanced.

After Dark

When the lights go down, The Green Room takes over. This speakeasy-style space sits in the lower lobby and opens Thursday through Sunday from 10pm to 3am. Cocktails, parties, and late nights are the point. You’ll understand when you’re there.

The Social Calendar

Every month, the House events team programs member gatherings across tech, business, food, art, design, fashion, film, and music. Past Soho House events globally have included intimate performances by Mary J. Blige, fashion conversations with Victoria Beckham, and summer sessions with Disclosure.
