When you own and operate a hotel located on a pink-sand beach, there’s no two ways to think about the decor: you go full pink and don’t hold back on seashells. And that’s exactly what the team of designers that headed the multi-million dollar renovation of Coral Sands Inn & Cottages did. They embraced the colors, fauna, and flora of Bahamas’ Harbour Island to create a hotel that not only matches the local vibe, but that also brings joy to its guests.
The Location
Coral Sands Inn & Cottages is set on an island that’s off an island. Let us explain: Harbour Island (where the hotel is) is a 10-minute boat ride from the northern part of Eleuthera, itself an island. The nearest airport to the hotel is North Eleuthera. It’s quick and easy to get from the tarmac to the pink-sand beach.
Harbour Island is tiny (3.5 miles long and 1.5 miles wide) and has one town: Dunmore Town. The property sits in the town and alongside the very aptly named Pink Sands Beach.
The New Coral Sands Inn & Cottages
Shortly after acquiring Coral Sands Inn & Cottages in 2024, AJ Partners, the hospitality investment firm behind Graduate Hotels, launched a major, multi-phase renovation to take the property to the next level.
The last phase of the renovation ended in November 2025. Now, every nook and cranny of the property has been beautifully transformed. During the work, additions have enhanced the amenities. The most noticeable change is the new open-air fitness center with tennis, pickleball, and basketball courts. All of these are bright pink and turquoise — a nod to the beach next door. The icing on the cake of this transformation will be the brand-new spa that will open in late 2026.
Accommodations
Not a single space at this beachside property has been left untouched by the genius designers, but the accommodations are especially beautiful. No matter what you book, (a room, a suite, a cottage, or a villa) the fabulous decor will send you a jolt of joy. Think abundance of pink textiles, patterned wallpapers, seashell mirrors and light fixtures, and more. That said, we have a preference for the sea cottages. Mostly it’s because they each have a private path that leads to the beach, but it’s also because they have a pastel pink exterior that would make anyone smile.
The range of accommodation is vast. There are 29 rooms and suites at the Inn and Briland House, 14 cottages, and three villas (Brett’s House, Sharon’s House, and Villa Botanica). That means that you can come on your own, with a lover, or with a big group of family members or friends. The villas can house up to 10 guests.
Food And Drinks
There are three food and drinks options at this property. The Beach Bar that overlooks the beach is only open for lunch. The Beach Shack is for quick bites and drinks in between sunbathing and swimming sessions. Finally, The Pink Mermaid, an Italian bistro, is open for breakfast and dinner.
While all the dining venues have been perfectly designed to create a cheerful and Caribbean island atmosphere, The Pink Mermaid is especially striking. With its shell chandeliers, shell-shaped bar stools, and pink coffered ceilings painted with coral branches, it’s one of the most vibrant spots in the entire hotel.
