Mandarin Oriental Lucerne

When the Mandarin shows up in a location as perfect as Switzerland, it’s worth a look. The Mandarin Oriental Lucerne opened its doors recently, and it’s officially your jumping-off point this winter some Swiss powder on the ski slopes.

A New MO in Town

There’s a new Mandarin Oriental in town, and it’s in one of the most picturesque towns in Switzerland. With views of Lake Lucerne and the majestic Swiss Alps, the newly opened Mandarin Oriental Palace Luzern is officially a reason to put Switzerland on your list. In Mandarin Oriental style, they’ve taken a a celebrated Belle Epoque landmark and integrated their modern revival design. The result is classic meets chic and modern. In its short time open, this new Mandarin Oriental is already one of the best hotels in Switzerland.

The Rooms

This heritage hotel offers 136 elegantly designed rooms remade for the 21st century traveler. Living up to its reputation as a palace, the Mandarin Oriental combines Alpine aesthetics with modern design. The suites range from Superior Rooms to Presidential. But no matter the category, rooms are serene, and put you in a Mandarin Oriental Zen frame of mind.

The New Mandarin Oriental doesn’t skimp on the details either, which are all top of the line. There are a host of amenities from a bose stereo system for your vacation playlists, to amenities by Diptyque and Dyson. Because we know you can’t live without your $500 hairdryer. Each room also offers a majestic view of the pristine Lake Lucerne as well as the snow-capped peaks of the Swiss Alps.

Wine & Dine

The Mandarin Oriental currently offers dining at two restaurants: MOzern Bar & Brasserie and Quai 10. MOzern is the go-to place for the hotel’s guests, as a casual gathering spot, with all-day dining. MOzern also emphasizes on sustainability practices and ingredients are sourced locally.

Restaurant Quai 10 is the outdoor dining option, with elegant Mediterranean. The wood-burning oven fires up dishes with locally sourced and grilled fish, seafood and meats. Two more restaurants are in the works. The Colonnade will specialize in Modern French Haute Cuisine. Additionally, Minamo promises to be the best in Japanese cuisine, and will be open soon.
