Hacienda AltaGracia Costa Rica Hotel

Costa Rica Hacienda AltaGracia Hotel

You now have another reason to go to Costa Rica: the opening of the newest Auberge hotel in Pérez Zeledón. Hacienda AltaGracia opened this past December, and the place was a winner right from the get-go. This mountain retreat takes getting in touch with nature and wellness to the next level.

The Details:

The only Auberge resort in Central America sets a high standard. Fifty luxury huts dot around an 850-acre plot of land with a view of the of the Pérez Zeledón mountains. Located in a remote part of Costa Rica, the resort is for nature lovers who don’t mind frizzy hair or intermittent rain. Horseback riding and farm tours encourage guests to get familiar with both the wild and the cultivated environment. The bungalows, which are the size of houses, are just as clean and super-pleasant as any Auberge accommodation.

El Bistro and El Grill serve casual but delicious food and drinks in common areas that rival the private bungalows. Farm fresh is always good, but you really can’t beat food that makes it onto your plate just a few feet from where it grew. For an after-dinner splash, the infinity pool and spa are sweet amenities to indulge in. If all you’re looking for is a Costa Rica hotel, you’ll probably be blown away.

Why to Go:

One major draw is the extensive list of guest activities. Waterfall hikes, horseback rides, and canopy excursions are perfect ways to get intimate with the lush forest surrounding the resort. There are enticing culinary classes and soul-cleansing river baths if you’re not inclined to scale trees. Pretty much any time of the year, a rainforest escape in Costa Rica sounds like a treat.
