Fendi Private Suites is not on anyone’s radar except those who are in the know. Fendi put a jewel box boutique hotel on top of their store in Rome, where guests can live, breathe, and sleep fashion. And it makes sense: Fendi is a luxury brand, they have world-class clothing, and one of the best furniture lines out there – so why not create a hotel that brings everything together?
The Accommodations
The rooms are not the most palatial in Rome, but they are everything and more. For people who love décor, the artwork, the beds, all of the appointments in the room are Fendi and simply chic. The mini bars are from Eataly, and the amenity kits in the bathrooms are chock-full of the best of every product (Marvis Toothpaste, Bulgari shampoos and soaps) – and they are replenished every day, so should be pillaged accordingly.
This hotel is as un-touristy as it gets. You’re staying as though you’re a local. There are only seven suites, and there’s something homey about staying somewhere so off-radar.
Local Dining
There is arguably no good nightlife in Rome, except for Zuma Restaurant – which happens to be conveniently located on the rooftop of the Fendi Private Suites. The view is tops, the crowd is pretty and the vibe is lively. And although sushi may not be the reason you came to Rome, the sushi at Zuma Restaurant is a break from the Italian carbs that you didn’t even know you needed.
The Service
The front desk staff at the Fendi Private Suites reminded us a little of the people working for Miranda Priestly in The Devil Wears Prada. Except, in this case, the devil wears Fendi. You have to walk in there like you own the place, and firmly establish your respect with the staff, who eventually warm up to you.
