What happens when one of the world’s leading hotel companies buys… another one of the world’s leading hotel companies? You get the wellness and community of the Six Senses, and the comfort and ubiquity of IHG. Hashtag, blessed.
Six Senses Krabey Island, Cambodia
The InterContinental Hotels Group, owner of several vast hotel groups (including InterContinental Hotels & Resorts, Regent Hotels & Resorts and Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants) has just acquired the hospitality and wellness company from the private equity fund Pegasus Capital Advisors. It was only a matter of $300 million. As a result, we are lucky enough to be expecting 60 new Six Senses hotels within the next decade. IHG will now be managing 16 new hotels, 37 new spas, and Evason and Raison d’Etre, the sister companies of Six Senses.
Six Senses Laamu, Maldives
“This is an exciting new era for Six Senses,” said Neil Jacobs, Chief Executive Officer of Six Senses. “IHG believes in our purpose to merge the two platforms of wellness and sustainability to promote personal health, and the health of the planet. Joining forces with IHG means we can use a wealth of systems and operational excellence to grow our brand and reach new markets without losing our quirky personality and playful touch.”
Six Senses Yao Noi, Phuket
Over the next year, there are going to be so many new Six Senses properties, it will be difficult to keep track. But rest assured, we’ll keep track for you. With a new location on Krabey, the private island in Cambodia, five new lodges in Bhutan, a new property inside the 14th-century-old restored fort in Rajasthan, one in a desert hideaway location in Negev Desert in Israel, one in the transformed 19th-century mansions in Istanbul, a first-ever property in North America, as well as several projects already in the making in Austria, Brazil, Mainland China, Spain, Switzerland, Taiwan, and Thailand, it seems as though our Six Senses addiction has been tailored to all over the globe. But there’s really no such thing as too much Six Senses.
