Ritz-Carlton’s eclipse cruise on board Evrima in August 2026

Even if you don’t think of yourself as a cruiser, there’s one sailing experience this year that you can’t pass on: Ritz-Carlton’s eclipse cruise. This five-night voyage around Iceland is your opportunity to combine extreme luxury at sea with a rare celestial event. And while there are over 40 cruises organized around August 12th’s total solar eclipse, Ritz-Carlton promises to be one of the most opulent.

The Itinerary

Between August 8 and August 13, Ritz-Carlton’s Evrima will circumnavigate Iceland, starting from and ending in Reykjavik, the nation’s capital. During the five-night voyage, the ship will visit multiple stunning locations on the Icelandic coast, including: Grundarfjördur, Isafjôrdur, and Akureyri. Expect to see waterfalls, whales, lava fields, puffins, and much more. Select group excursions, pre-designed private excursions, and custom private excursions, such as hikes, bike rides, kayak tours, or whale-watching experiences, which will allow you to see the wonders that each port has to offer. Just make sure you arrange them in advance.

Ritz-Carlton’s eclipse cruise isn’t advertised as such, but the scheduled itinerary shows that the Ritz-Carlton’s ship, Evrima, will be in the right place at the right time – August 12, 2026, end of the day, sailing around the west coast of Iceland. That means that you’ll be able to see the result of the moon traveling between Earth and the sun and blocking out the sunlight for a short moment.

The Ship

Evrima is one of three ships in the very recent Ritz-Carlton’s fleet. Launched in 2022, Evrima was quickly followed by Ilma in 2024, and Luminara in 2025. While the design of all three yachts are extremely similar, Evrima is the most intimate, with only 149 suites on board. Every single one of these suites has a private deck so you can take in the fresh air, and the views, from your own personal space. There are six types of suites available on board, but our favorite is the Owner’s Suite. With 1001 square feet of indoor space, a 628-square-foot terrace, and a private whirlpool, you’ll feel like the goddess-queen (or god-king, we don’t discriminate) of the sea. And if you don’t feel like staying in your cabin, know that there are five restaurants and six lounges – you’ll never go thirsty or hungry.

The Cost

The price for this once-in-a-lifetime sailing starts at $10,400 USD per person. If you’re interested in this unique cruise, don’t procrastinate too long: the yacht is bound to fill up fast.
