Top Spots for Healthy Delivery in NYC

Congratulations to those who are still sticking to their new year’s resolutions, especially if they include eating healthier. Are there places that deliver food that’s healthy and delicious? The answer is yes — these top spots for healthy delivery in NYC.

The Botanist

What makes it healthy:

From the team behind Le Pain Quotidien, Le Botaniste is their plant-based restaurant that originated in Ghent, Belgium.  The chainlette decor looks like a pharmacy, with the mission to provide sustainable and plant-based food.  They also serve wine, as a glass of red wine a day keeps the doctor away.

What to order:

The Magic Miso Soup.  It’s served with gluten-free noodles and “free-range tofu”.  Add in some fresh herbs for good measure.  There is so much flavor profile in the broth, vegetables, peas and ginger dressing there is no sacrifice to eat healthy. For the Magic Miso alone, this makes Botaniste one of the top healthy delivery in NYC.

Planta Queen

What makes it healthy:

As part of the Planta restaurants in Florida and its NY outpost, Planta is the cool vegan.  As its name implies, dishes are plant based but are anything but boring.  The restaurants look like any trendy place to dine, and yes, wine and cocktails are on the menu.  They have a large menu with everything from vegan sushi to more substantial noodle and rice-based dishes.  You will not miss the meat here, one bit in both cuisine and atmosphere.

What to order:

The cauliflower tots, any of the dumplings, especially the potato truffle and sweet corn renditions and the crispy rice with avocado and watermelon sushi.  Their entire menu qualifies as healthy delivery in NYC, so go to town.

NYC Healthy abcV

What makes it healthy:

Jean-Georges is a machine.  Even after the new restaurant hype has far died down, abcV is still one of the hardest reservations in town.  This is Jean-Georges’ plant-based restaurant, where the ingredients are the most thoughtfully curated and high quality.

What to order:

The dosa with vegan cashew cream and avocado and the whole roasted caviar are legend.  There’s also a savory grilled pear tartine that satiates your savory and sweet craving in one.

Butcher’s Daughter

What makes it healthy:

The Butcher’s Daughter proudly claims to be a “vegetable slaughterhouse”, which pretty much sums it up.  It’s plant based, where all you need to do is look at the people who dine there and you’re sold.  There are vegetarian offerings as well, so additional sources of protein.

What to order:

This is avocado toast at its best.  Also the best egg sandwich really is good, as well as the jumbo lump “crab cakes” that are quinoa and jackfruit.

Il Mulino

What makes it healthy:

Stick with us here, because we’re not in anyway saying that a plate of pasta in cream sauce is healthy for you.  However, Il Mulino has a sleeper hit that should be on your eating light circuit, anytime of year.  Their stracciatella soup is an Italian classic, with spinach and egg in a rich, intense chicken broth. In other words, it’s full of Vitamin A, C, K and folate.  If you eat this for a week you’re guaranteed to shed those unwanted holiday pounds.  So yes, Il Mulino can be one of your go-to spots for healthy delivery in NYC.

What to order:

The stracciatella soup, we wax poetic about above.  Il Mulino is one of the few places in the city that serves this healthy comfort food and the only one that knocks it out of the park.
