We’ve always liked Justin Verlander and Kate Upton, as they are world travelers with style. Case in point: their epic wedding in Tuscany. But now that Justin plays for our city of New York, he’s worked his way even further up our list. So, to welcome them to NYC, this is where you can spot them on their travels, which are #goals.
Any couple who gets married at a 5,000-acre Tuscan estate is one who knows how to travel. Add in the fact that they almost missed said wedding for the groom’s World Series game, and we love them even more. Yes, we’re talking about Kate Upton and Justin Verlander. The supermodel–superathlete duo made headlines in 2017 for their whirlwind wedding and have been going strong ever since. In honor of the couple’s move to New York (and Verlander’s move to the Mets), we have a list of Uplander’s top destinations.
Italy
According to Upton, the couple wanted their wedding to feel like a big vacation with all of their friends. So, it only made sense to have it at Castiglion del Bosco, a 5,000-acre estate on the Tuscan hillside. We can’t think of a setting more dreamy than a 300-year-old village turned luxury resort. Throw in a golf course, spa, outdoor pool, and fitness center– and you’ve got yourself a wedding venue for the books.
St Barths
How does one celebrate signing an $86.6 million deal with the Mets? If you’re Kate and Justin, you head to St. Barths. More specifically, the Villa Embrace– an island escape carved into the Gustavia mountainside. The 12,000-square-foot villa is made up of five suites, complete with outdoor showers, hammams, and private decks. Feels like an apt place to chill out after a World Series win.
New York
It’s been a while, but Kate Upton is no stranger to New York either. Now that she and Verlander are back (and that too, in a dreamy UES penthouse) we can’t wait to see where they’re spotted when out on the town. If history’s told us anything, we can trust their taste. This is the type of restaurant that belongs to celebrities, and that’s exactly what makes it so fun.
Caviar Kaspia
We’re not saying Kate and Justin chose their new Upper East Side digs because Caviar Kaspia is only a ten-minute walk away. We’re just saying it probably didn’t hurt. This Parisian establishment is best known for two things: their caviar-loaded baked potato, and being your favorite celebrity’s favorite restaurant. It only makes sense that Upton and Verlander join the list of A-lister regulars.
