Dua Lipa’s India

Dua Lipa

We all know that Dua Lipa can sing. She also showed us she had acting chops in Barbie. But Dua can add world traveler to her list of talents, as she pops up in cool and under-the-radar places around the world. Her recent trip to India was just #goals, and these were the spots on her list.

Spotted at: Umaid Bhawan Palace and Mehrangarh Fort

Location: Jodhpur, Rajasthan

Dua Lipa’s vacation began in Jodhpur. The picture with the gorgeous painting behind her bed? That’s from her suite in the Taj Umaid Bhawan Palace. You might remember the place as the venue for Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas’s wedding. Converted partially into a luxury hotel, the palace has grand suites, three restaurants serving local and international cuisines, a spa, and a subterranean pool to relax.

Dua explored the blue city, shopped in the local bazaar, interacted with the locals, and visited The Mehrangarh Fort. The 15th-century fortress-turned-museum is famous for its golden arches and intricate glasswork.

If you are one of those curious travelers who like to explore the nooks and corners, then Jodhpur is a city for you. The historic city surprises at every turn with hidden cozy cafeterias or centuries-old havelis.

Spotted at: The Rambagh Palace and The City Palace

Location: Jaipur, Rajasthan

Next on Dua’s itinerary was Jaipur. Here, Dua was a royal guest of the young Maharaja Padmanabh Singh. She stayed at the Taj Rambagh Palace, the erstwhile residence of the royal family.

Dua had a tête-à-tête with tigers and elephants on the jungle safari. She enjoyed horseback riding and explored the temples of the city. The Rambagh Palace offers these activities to all its guests. Additionally, you can also indulge in spa treatments which were trade beauty secrets of the queens.

Dua rang in the New Year’s Eve at a private party hosted for her by the royal family at The City Palace. The candlelit courtyard and pink terraces visible in Dua’s pictures are areas of the palace open to visitors. Intricate frescoes, tapestries, and carvings make this place one of the most Instagrammable places in India. The best part? You can even rent a suite in the palace on Airbnb.

With its vibrant bazaars and pink buildings, Jaipur is one of the hottest celebrity destinations. Apart from Dua Lipa, the city has also hosted the likes of Oprah, Hugh Jackman, and Hilary Clinton.

Spotted At: Humayun’s Tomb

Location: New Delhi

No trip to India is complete without a visit to the capital city of New Delhi. Dua Lipa went to the Humayun’s Tomb, the resting place of Mughal emperor Humayun. Just like the Taj Mahal, the tomb is an ode to Mughal architecture. It was built in the 16th century and is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Speaking of the city, Delhi needs no introductions. Culture, history, food, luxury; it has something for everyone. Do choose the sightseeing route, because Delhi has the top restaurants, nightlife, and hotels that you need.
