VIP Access in NYC

Michaela Atiae, Staff Writer

We know that money can’t buy you love, but apparently, in a city like New York where everyone has coin, it can’t buy access either. Celebrity, on the other hand, does. If you score at least three on this coveted list, you’re doing pretty well in life too.

The VIP Access: Front Row at NY Fashion Week

New York fashion week 2019

Front row at New York Fashion Week is table stakes when it comes to VIP access in NYC. If you’re in the front row, it means you have influence in the fashion world, belong to a highbrow news publication, or have close affiliation to the designer.`All the big names in fashion showcase their new season collections on the runway. So whether you’re in the fashion industry, love fashion, or just want to sit next to a celebrity, you need a connection.

Who’s Been: Anna Wintour, Blake Lively, David and Victoria Beckham, Demi Moore, Sam Smith.

The VIP Access: Invite to the Met Gala

2016 Met Gala

An invite to the Met Gala is the ultimate in VIP access in NYC. The guestlist is entirely approved by Anna Wintour herself. Warning: Ego bruising is likely. The annual charity event raises money for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute in preparation for the opening fashion exhibit. Despite the event’s primary purpose of fundraising, its pop culture influence trumps money. So cash is not the answer, unless you pay a boat load of money for the few seats offered up at charity. Even if you do somehow buy your way in, you likely won’t be invited to walk the famed Met Gala steps.  The Met Gala is the Super Bowl of Fashion, and those steps are reserved for the A-List only. You could always try dressing up as a hamburger like Katy Perry. However something tells us it might not have the same effect.

Who’s Been: Zendaya, Blake Lively, Sydney Sweeney, George and Amal Clooney, Serena Williams.

The VIP Access: Zero Bond

Knowing someone isn’t necessarily helpful for an invite to the Met Gala. You have to be that Oscar-winning, Olympian, professional athlete or Super Model someone. But at Zero Bond, an exclusive club in Noho, they do allow the occasional hedge fund manager or ten past the velvet ropes. This is a favorite of celebrities as they have a no photo policy. It is especially celebrity studded as an after hours hangout. Of all the VIP access in NYC, this is the gift the keeps on giving all year round.

Who’s Been: Kim Kardashian, Pete Davidson, Eric Adams, Elon Musk, Bill Clinton, Austin Butler.

The VIP Access: Suite 200 Madison Square Garden

This is a case where celebs, they’re just not like us. One of the most exclusive VIP access in NYC is an invitation to Suite 200 at Madison Square Garden. Suite 200 is owner Jim Dolan’s private abode, with its own entrance and elevator. If you have your own PR, Glam Squad, share the same security as Taylor and lawyer as Beyonce, you will fit right in. After being personally escorted up to the suite once you pass the security gauntlet, you enter the promised land of Suite 200.

Jean-Georges caters a few of the bites, that sit along side sushi and a large buffet selection. The open bar is top notch and includes Stags Leap and pretty much any cocktail you can imagine. When it’s game time, you’re escorted by your own security through the back tunnels of MSG to your court side seats. For a celeb, it’s just another day of VIP Access in NYC.

Who’s Been: Jay-Z, Beyonce, Emily Ratajkowski, Jerry Seinfeld, Spike Lee, Alicia Keys
