On Tuesday, August 20, Moët & Chandon celebrated its 270th Anniversary at Chelsea Piers with Roger Federer, international tennis champion and Moët & Chandon Global Brand Ambassador.
Other guests in attendance included VOGUE Editor-in-Chief, Anna Wintour, who arrived by helicopter, Fashion Designer Christian Siriano and Actress Kelly Rutherford.
In exclusive interviews, Roger and Kelly tell Galavante their favorite things about NYC, fittingly, in a New York Minute.
Galavante: When you’re in New York with your kids, what fun activities do you do based in the city?
Roger Federer: There’s loads to do. I mean you could even go outside of the city, if you’d like, right? There’s many quiet spots outside. If you stay in the city, clearly the park makes sense, or the zoo. Or you go to see maybe some museums and then you can do all sorts of classes: gym classes, swimming classes. There’s many things to do, but then also we have a lot of friends and family in town. So we also spend time like that and create that home away from home feeling for the girls.
Galavante: After the U.S. Open, where are you headed? Are you taking a vacation?
Roger Federer: A little bit of time off to go to Switzerland and then go later on to prepare in Dubai to then go to Shanghai and to come back and play to finish the indoor season in Bazel, Paris and London.
Galavante: And those are all trips for leisure or for work?
Roger Federer: Shanghai, Bazel, Paris, London is still work. The rest is leisure, practice and sweating in the gym kind of stuff.
Galavante: Thanks Roger for spending a New York minute with us at Galavante.
Bonus: A New York Minute with Kelly Rutherford
After Roger, we caught up with a hot minute with Kelly Rutherford of Gossip Girl. Of course she looked as stylish as ever. We’re wondering if Kelly is actually acting, or if the character Lily was modeled after Kelly. Her performance on Gossip Girl is so natural and flawless, just like Kelly Rutherford herself.
Galavante: Are there specific places you frequent in the city, say, on a Saturday?
Kelly Rutherford: I love Sant Ambroeus. I like their coffee a lot. Sometimes I walk the dog in the park. We take a long walk. I just moved so I’m like cleaning out closets and doing stuff like that. That’s really fun now.
Galavante: What part of the city did you come from and go to?
Kelly Rutherford: I’m still on the Upper East Side.
