Why we like it:
There are some clothing brands we feature because of a specific one-thing-or-other that they carry, and there are others we feature simply because we love them. Maison Kitsuné falls in the latter category. We love their multi-faceted Paris-meets-Tokyo clothing brand, their music label (Kitsuné Musique) and even their Café Kitsuné coffee shops. And now, Maison Kitsuné is more accessible than ever before.
The scoop:
Created in 2002 by Gildas Loaëc and Masaya Kuroki, Maison Kitsuné is a one-stop-shop for so many wonderful things. Over the last sixteen years, the brand has built a loyal fanbase around the world. And now, not only have they opened a flagship store on Lafayette St., in New York City, they are also opening the very first Café Kitsuné in the West Village this November.
The mastermind behind the flagship is French designer Mathieu Lehanneu – and if you think you’re heard of him, it’s because he’s responsible for the Café Mollien in the Louvre Museum in Paris. The Fall/Winter 2019 collection, as designed by Yuni Ahn, is of course, available at the new flagship store.
