Black Bean Hummus

Black Bean

In case you are on the hunt for an appetizing variation of the classic Middle Eastern hummus, consider trying out the black bean hummus! This smooth and creamy spread amalgamates the conventional hummus constituents such as garlic, tahini, lemon juice, and olive oil with black beans that are rich in proteins, resulting in a distinctive texture and taste. Here are the steps to make this delicious spread.

Black Bean Hummus Recipe

Fat Alley takes a unique approach to the classic hummus recipe by incorporating luscious black beans instead of the typical garbanzo beans. This southern twist gives the hummus a creamy and flavorful texture that is sure to satisfy.

Serves: 6–8

Prep time: 15 minutes

Ingredients

2 (15 oz) cans of black beans, rinsed and drained

1/2 teaspoon cayenne

2 lemons, juiced

3/4 cup tahini paste

2 garlic cloves, minced

1 teaspoon ground cumin

1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped

2 tablespoons olive oil

Kosher salt

Pita bread cut into triangles

Directions

For a delicious dip, combine the initial six ingredients in a food processor and blend until the texture is smooth. Afterward, transfer the mixture into a bowl and delicately mix in some cilantro and olive oil. Don’t forget to add a pinch of salt to taste. Finally, serve the dip with some pita triangles and relish the delectable flavors!
