Ingredients
1 tablespoon olive oil
A small Spanish onion, chopped
1 cup long-grain basmati rice
3/4 cup of water
1 teaspoon Kosher salt
Procedure
Heat oil over medium and add onion in a small but deep skillet. Cook until translucent, about 4 minutes. Add the rice and coat all of the grains with the oil. Add the water and salt. Bring to a boil, cover, and reduce heat. Simmer until rice is tender, about 10 minutes.
