The Awards for Outdoor Dining in NYC

We’ve really seen who is in it to fight this pandemic. We have to give props to these restaurants that are clearly in it for the long haul to keep their employees working.  And of course, all of us well-fed this winter season. These are three restaurants that win awards for outdoor dining in NYC. You should get ready to get hygge with these restaurants in the next few months.

Don Angie

These guys are just crushing outdoor dining in NYC. Their heated cabins  are fully ventilated, and designed so that there are clear windows between each private area.  Social distancing does not mean that you have to be isolated. Especially when neighborhood locals Sarah Jessica Parker and Andy Cohen are in the cabin next to you.  The topper isn’t even that celebrity sighting though. For us it was a tie between the food that is at pre-pandemic standards and the music that was wired into each cabin.

Thai Villa

With the pandemic, the bright side is we’re trying spots that we maybe would not have come across pre-2020. Thai Villa’s outdoor dining in NYC caught our eye because of their warm, atmospheric cabins. You can probably fit your entire quaranteam of COVID-free friends and family.  You’ll want to bring at least a few pees, to share the family style Thai dishes. Food is authentic and high quality, and service is from the heart.  Pandemic or not, Thai Village is a casual yet nice night out.

Nougatine and The Terrace At Jean-Georges

We have to give props to the entire JG empire of restaurants in NYC, as they are just thriving in their delivery service.  They show why Jean-Georges is a top toque.  The Winter Cabins on the Terrace at Jean-George are an elegant site to see.  They are so beautiful, they might even with the top spot for outdoor dining in NYC.  We wouldn’t be opposed if they kept going as a novelty next winter.  The catch is you need to have a minimum party of 4 for one of the greenhouse-like structures. Meet that requirement, and fine dining is yours.  This Restaurant Week they have a $20.21 flounder special.  Or if you’re feeling like living large, the caviar egg is always a winner.
