Alice Lobster Dinner

Christine Drinan, Founder

Alice Restaurant

Summer in New York City without your weekend house in the Hamptons isn’t so bad. In fact, we’ve been finding many a reason to stick around this July, and one of them is the Alice lobster dinner. Alice restaurant in the West Village is an Italian seafood bar. It’s one of the top underrated neighborhood restaurants in NYC, but now there’s a reason to give it a try. From now until Labor Day, Alice  is offering a $95 four-course lobster dinner in NYC with two drinks thrown in for good measure. These are the details.

Winner, Winner, Lobster Dinner

In lieu of bolognese sauce Alice focuses on seafood inspired and vegetarian Italian dishes. They actually serve no meat at all in the restaurant, so a pescatarian and vegetarian haven. The seafood is always top quality and you know you’ll have a good meal at Alice. This summer, they are offering a lobster dinner in NYC that should make it onto the rotation at least once. And yes, every course except dessert has lobster.

The Menu

The first course of this lobster dinner in NYC is an amuse bouche by the chef. On our evening it was a lobster arancini, and got the party started out right. You also have a selection of summer-inspired cocktails or you can jump right to the wine choices. Your meal includes two drinks and all the choices are solid. You already get your money’s worth on the $95 price tag with drinks and the starters.

The second course is a choice, where on our evening it was lobster burrata or a lobster roll. The portions are generous and for moderate eaters can already fill you up. The main course was a choice of  lobster pappardelle or lobster Catalan.  The latter is a lighter meal that’s a whole lobster served in its shell with fresh herbs and tomato sauce. We all ended up going for the pappardelle which I took home in a doggie bag and had for two meals the next day. This lobster dinner in NYC is one of the best values, where $95 barely gets your two glasses of wine and some bar nuts.

How to Book

Technically you pre-pay for your meal on Resy, but we showed up not understanding the system. They still accommodated us on the lobster special with no issue at all. Also because it was a slower Monday, they were actually offering the lobster dinner to walk-ins. If the lobster dinner is your raison d’être at Alice, you can book here on Resy.
