You’ve been to fashion week where the clothing is the star of the show. But if you’re really lucky, you’ll be invited to a Dior High Jewelry show, where it’s all about the bling. Inspired by the rich designs of Dior, this is jewelry that goes to the next level. And you know…the holidays are right around the corner.
The Essence of Couture
Dior Print, Victoire de Castellane’s most recent collection, aims to push the boundaries of the legendary fashion house. The artistic director has translated the language of high fashion into three-dimensional jewelry pieces. The line consists of 137 pieces, making it the largest high-jewelry collection to date. Made up of nearly 54 carats of diamonds, multicolored sapphires, emeralds, and rubies, each piece is even more delicious than the last.
From the first look, it’s clear that romantic, playful designs are at the heart of De Castellane’s work. These are not your typical necklaces, rings, and earrings. Blue sapphires spill over an arrangement of smaller diamonds. Floral printed ribbons surround striped stones. Swooping shapes create fascinating texture and structure. It’s jewelry that moves with you, inspired by a myriad of past Dior designs. And while couture houses have always dabbled in jewelry, Dior Print is a true marriage of the two art forms. De Castellane even went so far as to reproduce Dior’s print motifs in a manner suitable for the smaller stones used in this line.
The Collection
The line debuted in June 2022 in a stunning runway show hosted in Taormina, Italy. Additionally, the show featured a lineup of 40 newly-designed couture pieces form the women’s collection, shown in conjunction with the accessories. Combining the formats created an envy-inducing presentation in an effort to further a dialogue about jewelry’s place in couture.
Where to Buy
From delicate charms to bold statement pieces, a wide range of designs has put the house’s entire collection at the top of our Christmas list. The line, along with Dior’s entire fine jewelry collection, is available for purchase. Prices range from $1,300 to the tens of thousands. If you’re left wanting even more, De Castellane also produces custom designs. These can be commissioned through Dior’s high-jewelry workshop, located at its Paris flagship store.
