You always have to be looking forward to the next vacation, and that, for most of you families out there, is Spring Break. But if you didn’t get it together last year to book, as they say, it’s never too late. These are the destinations that are both near and far, to get another memorable family trip on the books.
The Destination: Charleston, South Carolina
The charming city of Charleston is jam-packed with family-friendly adventures for a memorable vacation. Palm trees, good weather, and pastel homes will have you feeling like you left the States, but it’s an easy trip from most major cities. You can take a family stroll through the city’s many gardens and parks to discover spring’s first blooms and wildlife. Better yet don’t walk, travel in style in a horse-drawn carriage. The kiddos can even bring a natural artifact back to the local aquarium trading post for a gift exchange.
In addition to good old American culture, there are active adventures for the family. From paddle boarding, kayaking, ziplining, and fishing along the harbor, Charleston brings you back to the basics of family fun.

The Destination: Panama
Panama is on the smaller side, but that doesn’t mean the country isn’t full of life. Set between the Caribbean Sea and the Pacific, the land creates a diversity of plant and animal sightings. You and the kids can see boats of all sizes move through the canal and across oceans, which is a crowd-pleaser for all ages. Other family-friendly activities in Panama include snorkeling, chocolate making, and rainforest tours. Sneak in a bit of the old town’s cultural history during a tour under the disguise of pirate lore. With all the offerings of a tropical metropolis and spring break right before the wet season, it’s where to go for spring break for families.

The Destination: Copenhagen Denmark
Copenhagen is a whimsical wonderland. The culture around children in Denmark is one we should all take notes on. Babies sleep comfortably in carriages outside, and a network of staffed playgrounds allows parents some more relaxed time. That said, when with your young explorers, there is plenty to see. You can check out Northern Europe’s largest aquarium, find the forgotten giants, ride bikes, and enjoy a Danish pastry… or two. But we saved the best for last – Copenhagen has some of the oldest amusement parks in the world. Bakken is 440 years old, and Tovoli Park influenced Walt Disney to make his own theme park, AKA Kid Heaven.
