It’s only appropriate that the home of the famed white truffles should have a true luxury hotel. Casa di Langa recently opened in the Piedmont region of Italy, otherwise arguably known as Italy’s culinary capital. This is the magic spot where Barolo, Barbaresco and Alta Langa intersect. It’s on our radar, and here are the deets.
The Specs
Just 39 rooms make up the hotel which has committed themselves to sustainability. A work of art unto itself, the hotel features a collection of fine art by famous Italian and American artists who celebrate the gorgeous countryside. Each room is outfitted with a spa-like bathroom with rain showers and has a private terrace.
A Vineyard Immersion
The hotel’s boutique vibes come through in bespoke experiences cultivated to immerse guests in the 100 acres of surrounding vineyards. Along with, of course, a healthy dose of authentic Italian culture. The lux accommodation are a draw, but so is the charming historic town and working vineyards. It’s a place to inspire a Vespa tour through the grape vines. Maybe take a cooking or wine tasting class. And of course, make friends with a Lagotto pup, and hunt for some truffles.
The Capital of Food
As for the food, you in arguably the culinary capital of Italy, you know they are serious about their cuisine. Chef Michel Bouchard, a young up and coming chef, heads up the main restaurant. He brings with him years of experience in Michelin restaurants. He has to, because nearby Piedmont has 45 Michelin restaurants to try.
Spa Time
The spa is also top notch and ecologically designed. After a long day’s work hunting truffles, you can come back and relax with a nighttime sleep ritual, or a deep tissue massage. All in all, besides the location, the standout features are the incredible sophisticated interiors, and the once in a lifetime experiences. You can come with a love of wine and leave with WSET certification.
