On the Ground with Jordan Wine

Featuring John Jordan

Jordan Winery in Sonoma, California, was founded the year that John Jordan was born by John’s mother and father. The Jordan winery is a family affair, and today John leads the vineyard.  Jordan has some of the best wine that is produced in Sonoma county.  We learn about Jordan’s history, and John, in our interview at the vineyard.

It’s a Family Affair

What you may not know though about Jordan and John Jordan, is it is one fun place. The team is like a family; almost everyone from their winemaker to their marketing, is a long-time employee.  The team that plays together, clearly stays together.  John Jordan is an avid pilot, and he has a lot of toys.  There is an airplane hanger on property that is like the ultimate man cave.  And of course, they serve Jordan’s wine, that flow during the parties.  Their halloween party is legendary, where each year, the costumes get more elaborate.

The Wine

When you think of California, you may think first of Napa.  That’s ok, because Napa has excellent wine.  However, Sonoma also holds their own.  What we love so much about Jordan is that it’s good wine, without taking itself so seriously.  Jordan wine is what you want for everyday, and also for special occasions.  The red wine is rich, full-bodied and represents the best of California cabernets. You can’t have just wine, even Jordan wine, without food though.  Jordan has a talented in-house chef, who pairs Jordan wine with some seriously culinary eats.
