Jana is a native New Yorker and received her BA in Public Policy Studies and Sociology with a certificate in Markets and Management Studies from Duke University. She spent nearly a decade in the Membership, Corporate, and International Department at the Council on Foreign Relations.

She paused her foreign policy career to pursue her passion for writing and her dazzling daughters. Since taking the plunge, she is currently a columnist and contributor for New York Family Magazine. Jana also serves on the Management Council of the New York Junior League, alumni advisory committees for Duke University, the young professional boards of nonprofits such as CCFA, as a consultant, and doting mommy.

In her spare time, she is always ready for a great adventure and enjoys family travel to experience the world through her daughter’s eyes.
