The more things change, (Hi, Lucali), the more they stay the same. And if there’s ever such a thing as a sure bet, it’s that St. Barths will always be a good time. This is where to go in St. Barths this 2026 on the island that continues to get better and better every year.
New Hotels in St. Barths
One of the special aspects of St. Barths is their impossible zoning laws, which means that the island will not be overdeveloped. In fact, the last of the new hotels will be coming online in the next 2-3 years, as after that, there’s no land left for hotel development. Therefore, expect to see upgrades to current hotels, but not any large high-rise developments. One welcome new hotel will be the sister property to Le Barthelemy, which we’re betting will be one of the most luxurious on isle. Until then, this 2026 has one-and-a-half new spots. We’ll explain the half under Fouquet’s.
Fouquet’s St. Barths
If you’re old-school, you probably knew the original hotel as the Carl Gustaf. It was only a matter of time on that prime slice of real estate in Gustavia that the Carl Gustav would get a glow-up. That’s where The Barriere came into play with the complete revamp of the original hotel. It’s not where the story ends, and this is where the half new hotel comes into play. As of this year, The Barriere is now officially a Fouquet’s hotel in a rebrand. And in lieu of a traditional Fouquet’s, the restaurant is actually a Beef Bar.
Amnios
Tucked into the lower hills of Grand Cul-de-Sac, Amnios is the rare new hotel in St. Barths that’s simplicity at its best. You could say that Amnios is for those who’ve already done the scene and just want to keep it easy-going (for St. Barths standards, that is). One of its strongest virtues includes its sweeping lagoon views, and its infinity pool, which seems to spill directly into the turquoise lagoon. It’s an intimate feel, like you’re staying in a private home. The hotel has only 5 abodes, which include two villas and three suites.
New Restaurants in St. Barths This Season
If some of these names look familiar, it’s because they are. Whether it’s a transplant from the St. Germain in Paris, or a famed pizza place in Brooklyn, the St. Barths renditions are arguably happier. With these new arrivals, there’s also even more reason to extend your time on the isle.

For the Scene
Chances are you’re not on isle to social distance. Just when you think you’re too old to go clubbing, this is the type of place that reminds you that you’ve still got it. Of all the Caribbean islands, St. Barths delivers on the people-watching scene.
